When Sue Barker was axed - and that's another debate there were two clear easy choices the BBC could have chosen that would have meant the show would have retained it's popularity and run in the same way: Clare Balding or Dan Walker - both would have done an excellent job and if the BBC wanted to keep a female presenter Clare B would have been the perfect choice and I bet she would have jumped at the chance. They seemed to want to try and mirror A League of its Own - and failed miserably. As I have seen reported in other reports Paddy McGuiness ruined Top Gear and now Q of Sport - total disastrous appointment!

From what I heard on the Radio in the week this is an issue at all levels of football as no one wants to become a Ref anymore due to the abuse - verbal and physical, that seems to be a culture of football these days. It would be really interesting to see if there is a shortage of Rugby referees as the respect shown to them is poles apart from what football refs have to deal with. Football needs to clean up its act if it wants better referees!

From my point of view we seem to have an ok defence (most of the time), an ok midfield on its day - but a strike force that is clearly lacking in finishing ability and experience. Had Tommy converted his great chance last night the game is very different. We need a striker, or two who can score goals - perhaps try Jason Knight or Mark Sykes in the centre forward role - they seem to be able to finish better - but who knows!!!

What was strange about today - Sykes is out and out a Right sided player - he played on the left! Mehmeti is a left sided player - who when he came on played on the right! Surely that is plain to see so is it surprising that neither did well today! And lastly, whilst it’s nice to play pretty pass pass pass football - at times, Mr Vyner, when in the 95th minute to have an attacker breathing down your next out the ball into Row Z please!!
