  1. Have up until now been Pearson in. However, this just isn’t good enough. Not by a long shot. These players should be doing better, and there has to be someone out there capable of getting more out of the players than NP and his coaching team are able to. Time for change.
  2. There is a guy who sits in front of me who swears a lot. I mean A LOT. Particularly at Keith Stroud (possibly he is justified in that situation). It doesn’t bother me at all, but whenever I bring my mrs to the game she gets really fed up of it. Different people react to things differently I guess ??
  3. I hate xG and the fact we have gotten to the point where xG exists… However, someone did make a valid point on this forum (apologies I forget your username) that in the opening few games of the season, our xG was much lower than the actual goals we were scoring and that this would soon catch up with us (I.e. you could interpret that to mean we had been lucky).
  4. Don’t get the bashing of FBC at all really on this forum. I think Mark and Neil are normally a good listen. Davefevs brings a different perspective, and having Chris Honour come on the previous pod was a welcome voice and opinion. Ian is not to everyone’s tastes, and the episodes where it’s just him and Dave P (which are fairly rare) aren’t as engaging I find. But in general it’s my go to of the 3 fans podcasts that are out there. Dave P does a good job of hosting. It’s the most of the 3 pods which is like a fans phone in and I quite like that ??????
  5. It is our lot in life as city fans! ?
  6. It’s the hope that kills you ? I, like many, thought as we began to climb the table that we had turned a corner and this could be a really promising season. Particularly with the emergence of Conway to our forward firepower. However, after many many years of supporting city I really should have seen this stop-start pattern of form coming! ?
  7. Bring back John Shaw. And his hair-piece.
  8. I have little to add. It was a drab boring game. Lots of possession, little reward.
  9. Dominate possession but get little reward for it. It worries me. Better teams will capitalise on our inability to build a lead.
  10. Why no pizza at Ashton Gate?
  11. I wouldn’t be against VAR at this point.
  12. My view is that it has to be a mentality thing. We lack that ruthless edge to ensure that we are clinical with half chances presented our way. Then if a team punishes us for our own sloppiness, we seem to abandon our faith in the pass and move football and instead revert to panic-ball. After conceding, there were far too many first time passes struck yesterday without any degree of accuracy. Hit and hope football.
  13. This confirms my initial impression that he picked it up outside and carried it into his area. The goalkeeper has clearly cheated, but the referee just has to do better here.
  14. He is a good player, but he is also a liability. Have given him enough time now. His decision making at times is frankly bizarre.
  15. I noticed this also. He looked absolutely gassed and was not able to get up and down the line, leaving Massengo with no viable overlapping option. I mean Christ, Wilson looked like he’d just run the bath half! Wtf?
  16. That’s a game we should never be losing BUT you have to give QPR credit for being ruthlessly efficient with the chances presented their way. We played some good stuff, some not good stuff. However, we were not even remotely clinical today. QPR were there for the taking today, but we lost through our own mistakes being ruthlessly punished.
  17. What a bloody good team we had that season. Happy memories. Until we fluffed the POF of course.
  18. I really enjoyed Danny Wilson’s era as manager, though I probably am looking back on it with slight rose tinted glasses. We played some bloody good football and had a very exciting team to watch (generally). We were also pretty hard to beat, and I remember going to AG every fortnight feeling we could beat anyone on our day. It was a shame he never was able to get us promoted, but leaving Lita out in the play off final was a bloody silly thing to do. The GJ era was good, but for different reasons. I don’t think the football was as good, but the feel good vibe around the ground was the best it has ever been in my lifetime. The connection between the fans and players, and the club as a whole, felt tangible and I really do think this was at least partly responsible for some of our success in this era. For me, the only other “proper” manager we’ve had in the 21st century (other than Nige) is Cotts. We played a swashbuckling style of football that was very attack minded, and we had some real flair players who would get me out of my seat. I also won my largest season long bet under SC’s tenure so I’ll always look back on him fondly!
  19. Ever since his very first interview with GT on Radio Bris shortly after joining the club, NP has done a very good job at lowering the fan base’s expectations. Whilst I do agree that there seems to be a tangible shift in fortunes and performances on the pitch in the last 4 weeks, I’m not getting ahead of myself just yet. The December/January period wreaks havoc for all teams, likely to be an even stranger period of domestic footballing madness this year in the wake of the Qatar World Cup. If we can be consistent in accumulating points at a steady rate during this crucial period, then I’ll start to believe! ??
  20. Get in. Better side over the full 90 and deserved to win by a 2 goal margin. Unfortunate defending let them back in for the last 5 minutes, but good mental fortitude ensured we did not drop points. Well done City!! #coyrs
  21. We look really good. That was a good half from both teams. Open and expansive play, neither side opting for negative passes - both looking to get the ball forward quickly. Very entertaining to watch.
  22. I very much like the idea of the 1892-1897 or 1898-1899 shirt being resurrected as either a third kit, or as a limited edition commemorative kit (I.e. if not worn by the playing team for match day, released by Hummel as something fans can purchase as something of a collectible item). I have this shirt, it looks more like a deep blue when wearing it to me - but mine could be a bit faded. Actually really like this shirt, clearly I’m in in the minority!
  23. What a sad, sad little life you lead Finlay. Good luck NB! Hopefully he’s put some money aside and is able to go travelling the world with his wife. Hopefully he finds a new venture.
