When you say enforce it I don't believe it's a rule anymore.

So are you saying that a goalkeeper can collect the ball in their hands in the first minute and then hold onto it for the next  89

minutes? (See Laws of the Game and FA Rules 2021/22-  Law 12 Fouls and Misconduct.

Thanks for that, but its certainly news to  me.

Edit. Just looked at the format on Wiki and it doesnt make it clear, although it seems to imply that it is regionalized all the way through including a North South final.  Miah help please.

Rules of the EFL Trophy available on EFL website. Unseeded and non-regionalised draw from Quarter Finals onwards.

Is that for all age groups up to and including under 18s? I can see that being the case for say up to under 13s but anything over that then we are fighting for players to sign to us and not go else where.

According to my friend, whose son has joined the Academy this year as a pupil, before boys and girls are accepted into the Academy at 16, they have had to attain a certain academic level with their GCSE's results. For the next two years they spend most of their time in the classroom, where the uniform is a Bristol City tracksuit. There is more to the Academy than just being a good footballer. They are taught about all the aspects of being a footballer, including how to coach. This gives the kids a good grounding in case they don't make it as a professional, which, as we know, most won't. A lot of really good footballers don't make it as far as the Academy because they don't get good enough GCSE grades.

Just caught the rovers chairman saying that their academy players have to buy their own kits etc, and if they can't afford them they'll need to find the support from elsewhere. Did I hear right??

You probably did. I believe the same applies to our Academy as well. A lad I know was accepted into BCFC Academy in September and his parents had to find about £200 for training kit, etc. It's the equivalent of buying a school uniform for the sixth form.

A good following but easily explained by the fact that Rovers haven't played at Ewood Park since 1991 because they have been complete dogshit.

Give them a couple of seasons struggling in L1 and let's see what their away attendances are like then...

But I thought Rovers played at Ewood Park every Home game?!!!

Couldn't even get 10k with a sold out away end

Be fair. There is a very sound reason for their 'massive' away following, compared to home gates.  If you were a Sag  supporter, wouldn't you prefer to go to 23 other much better stadiums, to watch your team, rather than going to The Sh!%hole every other week?

I did say that this is an actual Bristol Rovers thread so I feel quite happy learning what's going on at our place on here ... any rumours .. signings etc about us are here ..

Do you not realise that this thread is the one we City fans use to take the p!ss out of the Rovers?

Nothing else to do so I've got Radio Awful on. Do people actually pay to watch this sh!te ?

I was casually chatting to a youngish guy and an older lady in the café at Southmead Hospital the other day. The guy was on crutches and told us he'd fallen down some steps, at a family party, and badly damaged his knee. The lady jokingly suggested he should 'take more water with it'. His reply was classic. He told us he was unable to drink any alcohol at the moment because of the pain killers he was on. He also said... 'And to make matters worse, I'm a Rovers supporter. It's bad enough watching them when I've had a few, but now I have to watch them sober'.

So in answer to your question, yes people do pay to watch that sh!te, but some of them are more realistic about it. :)
