The Enormous Turnip
Oliver Postgate passed away on monday 8th dec A sad day for ivor nogging and the rest RIP Yes, a sad day indeed maltshoveller. I tried to put up a number of pictures on the day but was eventually beaten by the technology. Things were much simpler in Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin's day. Still, he lived to a good age and the characters he leaves behind - Noggin the Nog, Ivor the Engine, Bagpuss, The Clangers, Pogles Wood etc will delight and entrance many generations to come. If you've never watched Noggin the Nog, and the many Tales of The Norselands, they're available on DVD, Video and clips on Youtube and even if you're only initially watching them to accompany your children you, like me, will soon be captivated by the simlple, but magical creations and many wonderful voices of Oliver Postgate. RIP Oliver Postgate. A classic episode featuring yours truly below, also featuring the splendid illustrations of Peter Firmin: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pTcStBUW2Ao
