bcfc seattle
what are half the people doing on that list. Saw some of the names (Kluivert) and was surprised Heskey wasn't on the list, then half the real madrid team is on there but not perhaps their most important player? (Roberto Carlos)
Akira
i always thought (shows what i know on the awards but...) that to win european football of the year, you had to be european?! and then world is for everyone .....
bcfc seattle
nah, remember a few years ago George Weah swept all the awards European,African and World player of the year. It'll probably go to Beckham, even if he hasn't been the best player on any of his club teams.

STA-BS14
I think the descision isnt just about the players performances on the pitch, they are all stupidly good players. But you have to think about what they do for football itself, whether its charity work or teaching youngsters. I would probably go for David Beckham. lilciderhed
Some surprises on that list, but no Roy Keane??? He is on fire this year!
ballwinningcentrehalf
if pavel nedved doesn't win it then there is something very wrong Agreed, Pavel Nedved has by far been the best player in European football in the last year... It'll be a sham if Beckham wins- but then again all these awards are shams- i mean Ronaldo won world player of the year for having a decent 7 games in the world cup and and an average time in about 15 Real Madrid games... oh and Henrik Larsson
