Official Match Day Thread - Bristol City Vs Rotherham

Recommended Posts

No osbourne so I imagine flint and Williams at the back with Moloney and Cunningham.

Gillett to return hopefully in place of Elliot and I think it will be a similar formation to that at tamworth

COYR!

So what happened to this midfield diamond then?

We don't have to stick to the same formation every time?

Also, Gillett could be playing the JET role, and JET the Taylor role. I imagine we are 4-4-2 though.

Is this the last we've seen of Harewood? Many thought in might be in SC's plans but not even on the bench...Nice to see Wes Burns included though.

Here's hoping.

looks like gillettes on the front of it instead of jet in the hole?

either that or a straight 442 for a bit,see how goes. sc will know what he wants doing, all we can hope is that it works.

reid and burns on the bench if we need a bit of creativity later on

Why does everyone assume we're going to play a diamond every week?! It's infuriating to read. SC clearly stated that he chose the diamond against Tamworth as a tactical option because of their height and strength to try and protect the back four but also give JEt some space in the pocket. That doesn't mean it's his favoured formation or that we'll play it every week.

Gillett may well be in the JET role and JET in the Taylor role today, but it looks more like a straight 4-4-2 to me.

Nobody has assumed anything as far as I can see so far on this thread, apart from the line up as printed.

Hope Burns gets on.

Time to get down the Gate.

Let's have a thumping home win Cotterill.

COME ON CITY, STUFF ROTHERHAM. :city:

Strikingly similar to a SOD lineup that

Except the blind loyalty shown to Shorey has seemingly been halted. The widemen will presumably get wide, rather than operate more centrally as they did under SO'D. So on paper it looks similar but it'll be a Cotterill team in the way that it plays. 2 very different 4-4-2's.

He drilled on and on and on about playing 2 up top and now he's playing Baldock upfront by himself again. The same thing that hasn't worked all season.

What was the definition of insanity again?

Interesting to hear what Marv had to say on World.. he said that Sean and Hoof are two totally different types of manager...

Try telling that to the board Marv.. oh sorry... i meant try banging your head against a wall.

As has been pointed out, how do you know it is going to be 1 upfront?

Where does it say that JET won't be playing up front. The twitter team sheet clearly has a semi-colon between the midfield and the attack. Baldock and JET up top is what it suggests.

Were you sat in on the team talk?

If not why don't you wait and see what is happening before moaning even before a ball has been kicked in anger...

Indeed what is the definition of insanity!

All of it.

For goodness sake man! no time no inclination. oh just for you then..

Question?.. what did the board say? .. they wanted seamless transition right?  - that should cover the first point.

head against wall?... board say they listen ... got it?

Or have you been wasting my time and just being very sarcastic?

All smoke and mirrors to confuse anyone who reads it I am afraid. This has been going on for years now. Even Sir Alf Ramsey put Nobby Styles in a number 9 shirt once and it fooled absolutely no-one.

:xmas:

If we get 3 worthwhile points today I really don't care what formation we play!

i believe cotterill suggested baldock has the potential to be a premiership striker and has the ability to play alone up front. He also prefers a team with a man who can play the lone role from what i understood.

What we need are players who can provide the chances for him goals will then come.

Aside from that, I can see us performing well as they all need to impress for their place in the team for a start. There is also a positive atmosphere around the club atm so hopefully that will aid a victory

Apparently it's a 4-3-1-2 - with Wagstaff as an advanced winger on the right.

Baffles me. Oh for Sod's simple tactics ;)

Great reply, if I wanted to be sarcastic I would have said 'a seamless transition like 2 wins in 18 league games' you couldn't get more seamless than that.

Its not the reason for the change i am talking about.. dear oh dear.
