The Official 'i Blame Lee Johnson' Vs Bristol City Match Day Thread

Recommended Posts

It's an early one but feel it could be used to get our moans out before the match ;)

Would love a 1-0 win would be happy with a point but I'm afraid to say think it'll be 2-0 Oldham

Can't afford to lose today, and if we win we could pull Oldham back into the relegation fight a bit more, I think it will be 1-1 though, stead and JET to score

We are draw specialists and that is the way it will end. Not really on great form currently, manager confused as to who he should play, players confused as to how they should play and playing against our former player who is bound to get something out of the game.

Line up will be a big tell take of how game will go. Play el abd in a back three and we will lose. In fact play him at all and we will lose.

We must play with width and attacking intent or we will constantly be on the back foot. Burns must play more than 30 minutes. Jet must be dropped as his heads not in it, nor his legs, nor anything. He's an enigma atm.

Final prediction after all that waffling, 1-1 at the most

Just to let you all know.. Yes, they have already scored; twice.

Own goal and a dodgy back-pass?

Did anyone see the preview of this game on Sky's FL72? I saw it in the pub but without sound. There was a lot of Little Lee and Our Jon...

Back four with no Cunningham? He's been one of our only decent players of late

Not sure about Williams at LB, cunningham would have been the better choice? but get to see if 4-4-2 suits El-Abd Better. Wonder which of pack and Elliot will play more forward or is he going for 2 holding mids? Anyway good luck Burns, looks a decent lineup to me.

One slightly weird thing this season is that so far we have played 6 teams twice in the league and out of that have 3 double defeats (Brent, Wolves, Cov), 2 double draws (MK, bradford) and 1 double win (Carlisle).  So if this pattern continues it'll be a draw.

I'll go 2-2

One thing today is Sheff U and Shrews are playing each other so if we lose are definitely back in the bottom 4 :-(

I think that's more a 433 with Baldock and Burns probably wide of Barnett as neither Reid, Elliott or Pack can play left hand side.

Would rather Gillett for Elliott and Cunningham in whos played well recently, but interesting team and playing for win

Burns starting, finally dropping the back 3 - pretty pleased with that! Not too sure about Williams at LB and Barnett really needs to show what he's about but at least we're trying something different.

Cunningham took a few knocks on Tuesday so I hope he is still carrying one. Otherwise, to drop him to accomodate El Bad is an awful decision!!

I don't think wet windy days are made for JET so maybe he is better off on the bench. I'll be interested to see how Burns gets on.

Absolutely freezing here.

I'm glad he's made changes but why has Cunningham been dropped? He was awesome against Cov. Glad we have gone 4 at the back with El-Abd central at last.

Hope this is the kick up the arse JET needs but fail to see why he can't do a job left of a 3 up top if Barnett can.

Great to see Burns start though. Completely deserves it and I'm excited to see what he can do from the start.

-------------------- Moore -------------------

Moloney - Osborne - Flint - Cunningham

------------- Pack -------- Marvin -------------

Baldock ------------ Reid -------------- Burns

--------------------- Barnett ---------------------

^^ I posted a few days ago saying I hoped we would play this team. I know the back 4 is slightly different with AEA and Williams in but mainly quoting to say I hope our front 6 are set up to play like this.

I can only assume Cunningham isn't 100%, he was pretty knackered by the end in midweek but if he was fully fit today definitely should have started over Williams.

El-Abd is now being picked in his natural position so let's hope we see his Brighton form.

Surprised Reid is back in but happy with the formation and rest of the XI.

Cunningham ran his socks off against cov, probably needs a bit of a rest I'd imagine

I don't see why people are questioning this?  We moaned for him to play 4 at the back and to try at least 2 upfront. Today he has done that and has also dropped jet instead of accommodating him to the detriment of the team.

Let's see how we fair with this set up and wait until after the game to criticize yea.

Don't like the look of that defence. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Dont understand not playing Cunningham from the start....

But pleased Wes is starting....433 looks weak on current form at CB, but here's hoping Im wrong and El Abd/Flint gels!
