willem ii
@Cloggie: actually, Breda is a bit nearer. And yes, normaly PSV is much beter although we deserved at least a draw against them this season in stead of a 1-3 loss....

Sixtyseconds
I hear City fans may be making a trip to Willem 13th December? There are two more trips this season being penciled in and booked. What should happen is Bristol City FC get their big pencil out next July or August. T R
Our main rivals are NAC Breda. Our neighbour city... There are some very similarities between Bristol rovers and NAC Breda. Their old ground looked very much like rovers current ground. Their new ground does have some similarities to Rovers new planned ground, especially inside. So how do we get these two clubs to link up without them knowing we suggested it? I'll put these two links up, the dutch site has an interesting looking sport shop near the bottom of the page. I am sure it says rovers on it. http://ennaasee.blogspot.co.uk/2012_05_01_archive.html http://www.stadiumguide.com/nacstadion/ This could make a good away day derby. willem ii
Last Saturday away match against Heracles Almelo who are in the last position of the Eredivisie. They won their last game nevertheless with 6-1, so they were in a good mood and with a win against Willem II they would leave the last position. We went with 477 supporters to Almelo (23 more and they away box would be sold out). 2 away boxes next to each other in the corner of the stadium, and lots of beers drank on the way to Almelo, which resulted in a very nice atmosphere with a lot of singing... An important defender was injured and could not play and in the warming up another defender got injured. As stated before, Willem II has quite a number of good players on the bench too, and the subs did their work perfectly. Very nice to notice this difference with the team two years ago when we also played in the Eredivisie. The first half both teams were almost equal to each other (Willem II slightly better), but Heracles was not able to create good chances. After about 25 minutes one of our subs defenders gave a nice pass through the air which beautifully landed on the head of our midfielder and the ball flew nicely over the keeper who was 10 metres before his goal. 0-1 for Willem II. Halftime. Second half Willem II was much better than Heracles and our rented nr. 9 Samuel Armenteros (from Anderlecht) who played in the past many years for Heracles scored the 0-2. In the 70th minute our nr. 9 did it again scoring a goal with a very nice move while leaving the keeper behind. 0-3 and lots of supporters of Heracles left the stadium at that time. Some went back when Heracles scored the 1-3 a bit later, but Willem II was not in danger and played their own game, creating chances for themselves and not giving chances away for the opponent. Endresult 1-3 victory for Willem II, the second away win in this season. Willem II is now on place nr. 9 in the Eredivisie. Only 3 points away from position nr. 3, but also only 5 points away from position 16 which results in play of games for relegation... Objective for this year remains staying in the Eredivisie, but with the way in which Willem II is playing now, more and more people are thinking AND talking about a position somewhere in the middle. This would also depend if the team stays together in the winter period. Next game is on Sunday against Cambuur Leeuwarden who are 1 point above us and are really playing with confidence. Lets get that feeling of them away!!!

willem ii
Report of the home match yesterday against Cambuur Leeuwarden. Willem II nr. 9 had to play against Cambuur Leeuwarden, nr. 5. The difference between them was two points. Cambuur has a very decent team and always go for the victory as is Willem II doing. So not playing deffensive but on the attack!!! Everything ready for a nice match between these teams.... about 11.000 supporters in the stadium.... It was played on a sunday so the atmosphere was average. The first half Cambuur was the better team and created quite a lot of chances, but thnx to our defenders and keeper it was 0-0 at half time. Second half Cambuur was once again the better team. And this resulted in a 0-1 around the 70th minute. Only from that moment onwards, Willem II was getting in their own aggressive offensive play. But although all the efforts and chances Willem II created, it remained 0-1. 4 Minutes extra time and in the 91th minute Willem II managed to score a goal. 1-1. In the last minute Willem II even deserved a penalty, but it was not granted by the referee. With Cambuur being the better team, I was already satisfied with 1 point and the 1-1 was the end result. Here some superb footage of the Kingside when Willem II scored the equalizer in the extra time. Make sure you watch it in HD quality and put the volume up!!!! Goosebumbs and a beer shower.... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=666354546812997&set=vb.100003153746007&type=2&theater Still nr. 9 after this match.... Saturday an away match against ADO Den Haag. They are somewhere in the bottom of the eredivisie, but climbing their way up right now..... Could be an interesting match... willem ii
Match report of last Saturday: Away match against ADO Den Haag. We are nr. 9 and they nr. 15, with 6 points between us. ADO has a strong nr. 9 playing for them. We went with almost 250 supporters to The Hague with good hope... The match had just started and ADO scored the 1-0 in the 2nd minute of the match. Not that bad, still 88 minutes left to correct this. Willem II played his worsed half yet. Quite a lot possession of the ball, but not creating anything. No chances at all and then it Always happens.... Their nr. 9 received the ball on the 16 metres line between three defenders of Willem II, got around them very nicely (best goal of this weekend in the eredivisie) and scored the 2-0.... ADO was very efficient... two attacks and two goals in one half. At half time we showed our players that we were not happy with the way they were playing. Second half: What a difference!!!!! Willem II giving no chances away and creating a lot of chances to score a goal, and that was what happened. quite fast 2-1 and after 20 minutes in the second half we were equal: 2-2... This had to become 3 points for Willem II.... But in the only attack of ADO our forward tackled one of their players in the 16 meter area and thus a penalty and the 3-2 for ADO. After that Willem II still played their good game and we had about 5 opportunities to score the 3-3. Unfortunately we did not manage to score and thus lost match in which we should have won!!!! Now we are in 12th position, still 6 points away from the relegation area. This weekend no matches due to qualifying games for the european championships... The week after that we play at home against Excelsior Rotterdam, a team which played Jupiler League and promoted to the eredivisie/premier league together with Willem II. They are doing quite good too, just 1 point behind Willem II. An important match to stay in the Eredivisie!!! Impression of the match with the goals can be find here (made by ADO so not too much of the opportunities of Willem II): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7T_cgUrqQg

willem ii
Match report of the game of last Saturday: a home match against Excelsior Rotterdam. We were 12th in the Eredivisie before this match and Excelsior 13th with a 1 point difference. Excelsior promoted to the Eredivisie last year, just as Willem II did and both teams are doing quite well in the Eredivisie up to now. with 12.000 suppporters in the stadium (about 150 from Excelsior) and a saturday night game (20.45) and two equal opponents we had all the ingredients for a nice evening... And it started good for Willem II, because they were the best team, with lots of possesion of the ball, creating chances and not giving away any chances. I think this was the best match of Willem II of this season. But we had the same problem as usual, creating opportunities, but not finishing it with a goal. Half time: 0-0 Second half Willem II still was the best team on the pitch, with lots of opportunities to score.... And when the best team doesn't score the opponent will do so. Nice score with the head in the ONLY chance Excelsior had in the whole match..... 0-1..... Only two minutes later a defender of Excelsior got the ball against his hand in the 16 metres area resulting in a penalty for Willem II. 1-1 scored by our top scorer Samuel Armenteros (rented for a year from Anderlecht). After the 1-1 Willem II tried to score the winning goal, but as a result the game they played became worse. And with Excelsior delaying the game (even the keeper had kramp?!?) the end score was 1-1. 1 point in stead of the well deserved 3 points.... But even with the 1 point Willem II has risen to place nr. 9 in the Eredivisie (of 18 teams).... 7 points difference with the relegation area... This Friday an important away match against FC Dordrecht who are now last in the Eredivise. 3 points would be nice, with 3 very goods opponents coming up after Friday (ajax, zwolle and twente). The away box holding 400 people was sold out two weeks already. Looking forward for a nice, intens match...
