There are some very similarities between Bristol rovers and NAC Breda. Their old ground looked very much like rovers current ground.

Their new ground does have some similarities to Rovers new planned ground, especially inside.

So how do we get these two clubs to link up without them knowing we suggested it?

I'll put these two links up, the dutch site has an interesting looking sport shop near the bottom of the page. I am sure it says rovers on it. http://ennaasee.blogspot.co.uk/2012_05_01_archive.html

This could make a good away day derby.

But they don't have a shitty bivouac at one end. There is what appears to be a sewage farm at the other end, so I can definitely see the connection.

I'm glad someone noticed the open toilets. Their new ground seems to have a bog area, definitely a connection with our bog gas friends. Also an interesting name for the new stadium... Rat.. Definitely a load of sewer rats up there.

So the question is has any gas heads linked up with this team yet? Being so close to Tilburg we could arrange a "friendly" game.

Banner shown last Sunday during the match against Heracles Almelo. As a test they made 7 parts forming one banner together stating: Tilburg above everything, with the three towers as a symbol of Tilburg.

Top tier Vs third tier, would kind of expect it TBH

Do you think you will be bringing your Amegos Banners and flags to Wembley?  Appreciate you will need to get them Vetted for safety etc but they would look fantastic on the day?  If you brought a few dozen of the scarves im sure you could sell them at the game ; I,d have 2 or 3 ?

A bit late, but here is the match report of our home match against FC Twente of last Friday.

FC Twente is a big opponent with a huge budget. But in the week before the match against us it turned out it was a bubble and FC Twente will lower his budget dramatic next season. As a punishment FC Twente got a fine of three points and with that they were one point above Willem II in the Eredivisie. So it was a intense week for FC Twente and they said they wanted to lose their anger on the pitch. With almost 450 supporters of FC Twente in the away box, an almost sold out Willem II stadium AND 75 City fans attending the match it had all in it to become a nice Friday night! And it would be a very nice match!!!

In the first half FC Twente was the better team. And if you are a regular reader of the match reports you know that on average Willem II needs three/four opportunities to score one goal. Last match we even had 8/9 chances with no goal as a result.... This time it was FC Twente who got many opportunities to score a goal, but didn't manage to do so. Willem II had two small opportunities and scored twice!!! 2-0. Nice detail is that the person scoring both of the goals for Willem II, Jerson Cabral, is on a loan from FC Twente. Unfortunately FC Twente scored also in the first half from a free kick (our keeper could have prevented that) just 2 minutes for half time, thus 2-1 at half time.

The second half FC Twente was the best team on the pitch once again and it didn't take long before they scored the 2-2. After that it looked like they were satisfied with the 2-2 result. Willem II almost scored but hit the post and FC Twente had some good attempts to score too, but both teams failed to do so, with resulted in a 2-2. A very nice attractive match, with some dissappointment for Willem II that they gave away the 2-0 lead, but also satisfied since FC Twente was the better team on the pitch.

The afterparty with our City friends was great with loud music and a couple of beers (or just a bit more). We had a great time with you and we hope you feel the same!

Tomorrow an away match against Excelsior Rotterdam with an (almost) sold out away box (400). Excelsior promoted also last year to the Eredivisie and is three points behind us. So an important match to finally Ensure a year in the Eredivisie next season!

@zidereyed: you have a good eye on this point. I can only talk about the pitch of Willem II and this is indeed quite small. Of course it fulfills all the measurement requirements, but the small pitch is chosen by our coach on purpose. Assuming that Willem II is a club playong in the bottom half of the eredivisie, we have to ensure that we do not give away mich space to the forwards of our opponent. In order to do so the pitch of Willem II is small this season.

I still owed you a report of the away match against Excelsior Rotterdam of March 14.

Quite an important game because winning meant that we would be safe for relegation (although it would feel like so). Excelsior promoted last year also to the eredivisie and is playing quite good (very good counter) and thus quite some points above the relegation zone. After 4 matches against big opponents. This one could give an opportunity for three points. As often we were the better team in the first half but missed lots of opportunities. Then after about 20 minutes a cross shot from 20 metres just went beside the keeper but within the post and we were in the lead with 0-1. The sold out away box (400 people) were satisfied with the lead and for myself I got the feeling that we wouldn't loose this match. Willem II played ok the rest of the first half but did not score. Half time: 0-1.

In the second half Excelsior did what they are good in: countering. And it didn't take long before the 1-1 was scored. Willem II was still the better team, but we were far from safety for the three points. But Excelsior is not the only team which can counter. A nice break gave our number 10 the opportunity to score and he didn't fail! 1-2... Still not safe but three points in sight!!! Then in the 90th minute the safety came, at least we though so. From another counter and a beautiful assist came the 1-3. The assist was so nice that the supporters in the away box shouted the name of the man who gave the assist in stead of the person scoring the goal. End of the match one might think, but what has happened with Willem II this season so often happened once again. Excelsior managed to score a goal in the extra time 2-3 with two minutes remaining. Two nerve wrecking minutes but thankfully we managed to keep the score on 2-3!

Three points gained and on place 10 in the Eredivisie and more important safe from relegation!!!!

Nice report, following Willem every week now.. checking scores, the table and if they play on Sky. Great to see them doing well.

Be nice to hear from Mr Kachina if he is still about after his bold prediction about how Willem would be relegated and how it would be a bloodbath each and every week ;)

Match report of the home game against FC Dordrecht of 1,5 weeks ago.

FC Dordrecht is at the bottom of the Eredivisie after being promoted last year. The away match was won with 0-4 against them so the only danger was thinking that we would win easily... Before the match we had a corteo from the City center towards the stadium with lots of people and lots of pyro. Some footage of that can be found here (start at 0:55): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM5OCZzxfWw

Then the match itself. It was a very sloppy match of both sides with teams losing the ball easily very often. Still Willem II was the better team as expected, but as usual, they did not manage to score. It lasted until the end of the first half to score a goal from a counter: 1-0 in the lead. We were Lucky that the referee did not grant FC Dordrecht a penalty due to hands of one of the Willem II defenders. Half time 1-0.

Second half was the same, Willem II not playing as good as they can, but we did manage to score around the 60th minute from a rebound. 2-0 Done deal, ready to go to Wembley by bus after the match and thinking of the beautiful stadium in London and meeting with all our friends from City. But then, as happens so often this season, FC Dordrecht managed to score the 2-1 in the 88th minute. Once again a goal against us in the last minutes of the match, resulting in some nerve wrecking last minutes. Thankfully Willem II could keep the 2-1 score and thus 3 points for Willem II. Two hours and a few beers laters we were off to Wembley and had a great time over there (I won't go into detail about that journey).

With this victory Willem II went from position 10 to position 8 in the Eredivisie. Position 7 gives the right to play play offs for a ticket for the Europe League. There is a gap of 5 points to number 7 being FC Zwolle. And who should we play this Saturday? Yes, FC Zwolle away. After that match we know if we can still dream of Europe or be really satisfied to be safe from relegation this early in the season.

Some (bad) footage of the match can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjPZ8hNlmoQ

We are playing at home and the stadium is almost sold out, therefore a nice match to watch. We won against them away with 1-2, but they are in a better shape at this time.

It will also be a sad game, since the treasuror of the supportersclub passed away last week after a terrible disease in the age of 67. He was member of the board of the supportersclub for more than 25 years and spend all his time on Willem II. A true Willem II supporter has died. For that reason the stadium will applause for him in the 67th minute, while his photo will be shown and before the match there will also be a minute of silence.

Word on the bush is that Bristol City will be again preferring to go elsewhere pre season. Clarification is being sought as we can then make plans - We will be back again next season.

I see Cardiff City may be playing Willem pre-season http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-pre-season-schedule-bluebirds-9194702

Another great weekend in Tilburg and once again the fans and club went out of their way to welcome us. It was also a nice surprise to see Swansea fans in the away end with Dan Haag fans due to an affiliation with the club, they were not pleased with Bristol City flags and sang us a few Bristol rovers songs upon our arrival! Bless em.
