PHILINFRANCE
9 minutes ago, Tomarse said: Lets hope OT is a flat batting paradise. Yorkshire batting doesn't look as strong as it usually is. Certainly bonus no Root or Bairstow that's for sure. And Rashid is apparently going to bat at 6! I appreciate he is a more than useful batsman, but Somerset were criticising/moaning about the decision to bat Allenby and/or Treego at 6. MichaelRobartes
I see that the players were off for bad light at Old Trafford for about ten minutes while the floodlights warmed up. Weird.

PHILINFRANCE
I think the best solution would be to simply control the run rate (and wickets) in this afternoon's apparently wonderful (overcast) seam conditions, ensuring that we do not bowl Yorkshire out, before trying to take advantage tomorrow (and Wednesday ) of better batting conditions. MichaelRobartes
Plunkett gone now 115-8. Hopefully no repeat of last week's 9th wicket stand.

PHILINFRANCE
I suspect Tom may be held responsible if, as seems increasingly likely, Messrs Plunkett, Bresnan, Sidebottom and Brooks are let loose this afternoon in these conditions. You should have shut up about Lehman and hoped he and Gale stayed there for a 6 hour marathon 50 run partnership!
PHILINFRANCE
Fine with me as well, but what are the odds of Peter Treego being in and out before the close of play?

PHILINFRANCE
Less than 40 overs left in the day - possible I suppose.
PHILINFRANCE
Now keeping the run rate down to below 2 an over for the last 10 overs), and probably less than 30 overs to bat . In addition, we have our maximum 3 bowling bonus points, Yorkshire are unlikely () to get any batting points and Middlesex are currently rained off. PHILINFRANCE
Two experienced batsmen in now: Tres has been in form all season and Rogers looks to have found some of his normal form the past few matches. Just hoping this is not a Tom type jinx, but keep it to two, maximum three wickets down at the close and who knows?. 15/1, 28 overs left. Lanterne Rouge
You do all know of course that everything will go swimmingly this week only for us to **** it up at home to Notts next don`t you.
Northern Red
Lancs' attack is shocking. No coincidence that the wheels have come off our season since Wagner returned to NZ and wasn't replaced. In an ideal world we'd have had Jimmy available for this one but niggling injuries and the ECB have seen to that.
22A
Northants have won the T20 three times in our years. Announced on our local news tonight that as the ECB is losing money, a new T20 format is under consideration. Bye bye the small counties., the new format will be just eight franchises based at the eight most heavily attended venues.

It's not what the fans want, being a Somerset fan, would I travel to watch a franchise at Bristol? Not a chance.
