Not a great day at the office. Glos have done us a favour in beating Sussex tho!

Disappointing run chase yesterday - throwing away cheap wickets has cost us two home games on the bounce now

Looks like we are going to have to do this the hard way - Sadly can't see Kent get anything against Essex

Australia Twenty20 international bowler Andrew Tye will miss this summer's T20 Blast competition for Gloucestershire because of a shoulder injury.

The 30-year-old suffered the injury while playing for the Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League in April.

50th Ton for Tres. What a man.

Now the record holder for First Class (Somerset) centuries after overtaking Harold Gimblett's longstanding figure of 49.

A wonderful servant of Somerset and a remarkable achievement, especially given his well-documented health problems during his latter years.

Perhaps his return to warm and comfortable home pastures enabled MT to play the game he always knew and played so well.

Decent enough player I suppose, will he not have champions trophy duty later in the season or are group matches all done by then?

Unusually for a Somerset signing he's available for the whole tournament. Yes champions trophy finished by then

Can't see us doing anything in T20 anyway , can you Phant ?

Agree @BobBobSuperBob, stand to be corrected, but not the best of signings we could of brought it

I still don't see why Tres doesn't play in the T20.

There was an interview in a free magazine that was handed out around Ashton Gate a few months back - he said in it, he hasn't retired from any white ball cricket, the club have chosen not to pick him. The worst part, he said he only found out about this when the club were handing out the kit at the photo day last season.

At Edgbaston last season in the semi, we were struggling for a batsman in the line up - it would have been ideal for him

To me he is the perfect batsman for white ball cricket

As a surrey fan we have a great chance of winning it this year. Depending on how we cope re:sangakarra off to CCL.

I get slightly annoyed when people moan about surrey and their riches....one of the reasons we are so successful is because of our youth system and set up.....it really is outstanding and we are always looking to push our youngsters through....looking at our side today, burns, sibley, Curran s Curran t virdi meaker etc.....and that's without dernbach roy and the recently retired ansari.

A lot of the reason we Somerset fans dislike Surrey so much is due to you having that charmless nerk Gareth Batty in your side.

Another defeat on the cards

Hopes lie with Elgar

Have we ever had a more ironic name of a Captain and 'batsman' than 'Abell' !!!!!  :grr:

Davies has been a massive letdown too

We look in real trouble this year

Maynard needs to go IMHO (Should have gone last season)

Have to get an extra batsmen in the team. Davies, Abell and Hildreth are in poor form

The youth system that you disregard to sign overpaid international players using the London wage weighting. Admittedly in last 12 months it seems to be less so perhaps learnt lessons.

..and yes for me all about Batty and also the Oval for being the only ground I've seen home fans attack away at cricket..

Overpaid internationals like who? Ravi rampaul....who else?

Do I really need to list the countless youth players who have worked their way through the system??? From the bicknells butchers ward to today....unfortunately you don't know what your talking about.
