Dominant win for Glos, despite the sleet up here around 5pm, and quality knocks from Dent and GvB. With both Brathwaite and Warner to come in, Somerset can write us off at their peril. This is a decent Glos side.

Indeed, it does seem to be a good Glos. side.

Should make for a good match this week - for a change ?.

Hopefully so. Somerset will be heavy favourites, though. I'd just like to see Glos build on that first result.

Don't see why,I think we've certainly had the upper hand in one dayers, true we haven't played them in long form for a good while .

Pretty sure you beat us twice in the four-day stuff last year, first by an innings and plenty at Taunton then bowling us out for under 100 in both innings in the Bob Willis Trophy. Plus you have matchwinners like Banton, Gregory and Leach to call upon. I also think us lacking a decent spinner puts us at a disadvantage. We shall see.

Well, Well.

I would never have guessed; I always had you down as a straight, pretty Macho sort of man.
Anyway, Well Done for coming out and I wish you all the best.

Yours in friendship.

For he reasons Tin mentions I think we will be heavy favourites, especially at home. Our seam attack is probably the best in the country add Leach and its an all round excellent attack. The only big question is over our batters making a score. I'm expecting a Somerset win by 4/5 wickets or 50 to 100 runs.

Going off piste,  just listened to radio 4 and the lengths we appear to be going to to sell cricket to the Americans!  Apparently we won't lose wickets - we'll have "outs"! This is the country who plays American football and seems to make it up as they go along! Perhaps we'll be able to bring on specialist bowlers and batsmen as the need arises?

It will be interesting to see if the attacking mode they adopted works away from what looked like a pretty docile wicket and a generally poor Surrey attack in Bristol.

I must admit to not knowing the strength of the squad at Glos, so I don't know who comes in if Shaw is still injured.

Jared Warner, ex-England U19 and Yorkshire, should be available but he's currently playing in the Seconds at Worcester (took 2-40). I'm not sure if David Worrall, the Australian seamer, is out of quarantine yet. If he is, he'll probably come in.

Someone (possibly Jack Taylor) also needs to drop out to accommodate Kraigg Brathwaite in the top three as well.

Why's that then? Any idea when fans will be allowed back in to the CACG mate?

They are holding a ballot for members to attend the County Championship fixture against Hampshire, T20 against Essex, Surrey, Kent and Glamorgan.

But capacity is capped at  2,000, supporters are also spaced out around the ground and have to stay in their specified seat, Somerset also mentioned that if it rained people would have to stay in there seats (or leave the ground) as people would not be allowed to congregate in the shop / cafe / museum

The first full capacity game is Hampshire in the T20 on Friday 25th June, after that all home games are on sale as pre-covid

Poor old Tom Lammonby.

A very promising young batsman, but he now has successive ducks, and only scored 5 in the First Innings against Middlesex - an average of 1.67 so far this saeson.

Is he a proper opener? Can't remember where he batted last season.

He's a better white-ball player, IMO.

Decent start for Glos. Two wickets and a few close LBW shouts turned down so far. Where's DRS when you need it?!
