Dogbert
Glos doing very well, I reckon bat out 12 more overs after tea and they should just about be safe.

Gutted for Glos, to win 5 games and not qualify for Div 1 is harsh. That collapse on day 2 really did it Would it have been better for us if Glos had done it - points carried forward? Whilst I feel sorry for Glos. - honestly @slartibartfast - for purely selfish reasons, it was far better (by about 10 points, from memory) for Hants to win as we beat them in a group game, but lost to Glos.

That collapse on day 2 really did it I'm ****** fuming, all our own fault, we know we haven't got any real good batsmen, but the bowlers make up for that, until ****** yesterday, why choose this match to spray it all over the shop? I know it sounds "dog in the manger"-ish , but **** me, we win more games than anyone else, jeez we don't usually do that in a full season ! I hope this format is ditched this year otherwise our promotion to Div one couple of years ago means sweet **** all ! Rant over !

PHILINFRANCE
Obviously, one mustn't judge too soon, but if we don't win this we don't deserve to go through. Glamorgan are dire - and their stream/commentary is not up to much, either. Edited July 16, 2021 by PHILINFRANCE

I did chuckle when they said they’d crammed extra people into the ground. Where? I think I might have spotted an extra two supporters over by the scoreboard. Is it just me, or is the stream just slightly behind the commentary?

Always shocking support from Glamorgan, someone I know has gone on a stag weekend to Cardiff, 24 of them at the game pissed up
PHILINFRANCE
As I said earlier, it is not a good idea to judge too soon. Somerset struggling a little bit here.
PHILINFRANCE
Has anybody noticed how many of the (non-Somerset) commentators recently have questioned whether a No Ball has been called when the umpire puts his arm out, shows two fingers to indicate how many balls are left in the over? ralphindevon
It sums up the 100 that Cardiff is our nearest venue and for years there's been no appetite for cricket there. If I was trying out a new format for cricket, Taunton would be one of the first names on the list and Cardiff one of the last

PHILINFRANCE
There has been a lot of criticism of the Glamorgan stream, but it must be said that they are quite (very?) complimentary about Somerset's bowling, especially Goldsworthy. PHILINFRANCE
I have just seen a shot of the crowd following the tenth over: that is not social distancing, that is just a sparse crowd.

ralphindevon
I have to hold my hands up and say I didnt think Somerset had a very strong T20 side at the start of the season. Ive been pleasantly surprised how good we've been. Not without flaws but so many different players have made good contributions.
