No way we`re winning this. Whatever we score Essex will just dig in for the draw.

Dangerous game digging in tho. Also Harmer was getting a lot of turn at end of day.  Time for Jack to shine

I think anything over 250 will be dodgy territory if we can get Cook <50 ish, they looked fragile without him and we have a very good attack, too long to dig in for the draw imo its win or lose the game.

We gonna declare overnight or add another 50?

Might as well get out there for a thrash - I doubt it will make a lot of difference to the way Essex approach things if we did bat six or eight overs. We`ll either bowl them out for a low score (which frankly is our only hope) or they`ll grind it out in singles and twos.

How are we going to play this? Have a swing for 8-10 overs and declare? It’s a massive day today. Getting Cook out early is so key for morale as he could quite comfortably bat all day!

Swing for 8 unless we’re all out leaving 80 overs and hope we get Cook out early

It's gonna be a last minute decision at 1pm which game gets streamed on the main tv and who gets the laptop, plus which game's commentary I'll be listening to.

Stressful stuff!

Like yesterday with the cricket and rugby!

Some of the balls from Gregory make you realise how Davey hasn't been at his best this match and Overton to a lesser extent.

Lewis has always gone well at Lords, think he masters the slope. The rest haven’t bowled that badly on what really isn’t the greatest of wickets.  Maybe we need to get Abell and Lamonby to have a go

No they've certainly not bowled badly, it's just they were almost unplayable at times this summer

It looked out, every fielder was celebrating immediately so it's hardly a shocking decision even if he didn't nick it

And the LBW a couple of balls after was absolutely plumb so swings and roundabouts
