Some Pakistani player with a famous relative , unless you are referring to the young Scotsman, although I don’t think he would be classed as ‘Overseas’. Seriously, though, I don’t think he starts until September, when The Championship restarts after the 100 farce. In addition, and I haven’t checked, he may be playing currently against Sri Lanka. ralphindevon
Somerset must get this 4th batting point, 26 needed in the next 6 overs. We all know how vital a point can be come the end of the season

We all know how vital a point can be come the end of the season Oh well doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. At the start of the day I thought 5 points was on, if not definitely 4. Disappointing not to get the 4th with so few wickets down for most of the day. I guess the Abell situation didn’t help.

Midred
Going off topic. There are God knows how many competitions in cricket now with players moving between teams. In the olden days each county would have a squad which would basically play all the competitions, more than often with the same team. Now we have Brooks playing for us in T20 but against us in county games. Don't mention the bloody 1** abomination where all the "star" players are drafted into 3 or 4 elite teams. Can anyone imagine the same in football where there was a team for league games, other players loaned in for carabao games and a player draft for FA cup games?

I wondered a few weeks back which club a player actually belongs to now? Or does that simply not happen anymore?
