Well if NickJ can do it...at which grounds have you watched City inside the home end?

Swindon, Stratton Bank...in my Bristol City shell suit!

early 90s pre-season testimonial, brother in law (Swindon season ticket holder)insisted I went in away end as I'd made him go in Dolman when we played earlier in the season. I got some stick but nothing nasty, and I made sure they knew when we equalised then went 2-1 up

Rovers (Ikea Super Bowl)

Celebrated Steve Johnson's near miss, before being marched out of the North Enclosure with several hundred like minded chums

Rovers (Trumpton)

That ******* game when whooseball won the day (on the anniversary of Mansfield's epic victory). Sneaked into St John Ambulance tent early doors, complaining of dizziness, returning to the away end to avoid detection.

Other notables include:

Notts County (was £2 cheaper) in FA cup 2-2 draw 1984 - escorted to away end after about 3 mins (after we scored - Crawford), when locals took exception to our celebrations

Aldershot 1982, before being chased across the pitch by a hungry looking police dog!

You couldn't fail to be in the home end at Aldershot as it was divided between home and away with a barrier and Hampshires finest in the middle...! Got hit with a shoe and a whisky bottle there once. The locals always turned out in force for us.

The Den. Clive Whitehead's debut :)

Yes but to be fair, you were wearing hobnail boots,a pair of ill fitting trousers held up with a belt and bracers, topped off with a donkey jacket and a rather convincing cockney accent.

I remember a couple of trips to Aldershot in the fa cup in the 80s...best thing was they had home and away turnstiles, you got through and everyone was in the same path. Had to walk behind their stand to get to our away corner. I remember a line painted on the floor, the police saying 'cross that line and your out' one lad stepped over it, they came in and got him, but before they chucked him out into the unlit park at the back they chucked him in with the Aldershot fans for a minute or two!

also remember a Carl shut overhead goal

That Carl Shutt scissors kick was a bloody screamer, one of our best in my lifetime. Shame was there was only me you and the other eight of us to see it....Although much like Northampton you would think there were hoards of us if you read some of this stuff.

The Shut goal I believe was the week before the NF League Cup semi and they were singing we are the Forest Lovers....What a bunch of Mankers!!

Brighton (Withdean, February 2007) and Birmingham City in 1998 when St Andrews was being redeveloped. The first one was fine, the second one was hilarious.. We scored first and I had to jump on a friend who forgot where he was. Lost 4-2 in the end, by which time the Blues behind us had worked out we weren't local: one bloke said 'it must be a pain in the **** coming all this way to watch your team lose.' We were with a Bluenose and he spent most of the time laughing at our pathetic attempts to fit in. No problems with the locals though, I think they were used to it that season.

I'd do it again, but it depends who we were playing.

The first time I went to the Manor, I took my daughter who being born locally supported Oxford.  At least one member of the family went home happy!

By coincidence doing it today, first time I ever have in 23 years watching City. Sat in a box at Luton once but that's not really a home end, no stand. Been to MK before but mate of mine was offered some complimentary tickets in main stand and thought I'd give it a go. Not looking forward to it, don't know how you blend in with plastics or not get caught up in atmosphere from away end... but I suppose lot worse places than MK to do it.

Went to old den in about 1990, that was dodgy, but hull new stadium in the early/mid 2000s was bad. Lita scored a tap in to make it 1.1 and the hull kids ran past me to attack the away fans. Worse though, i was in a red retrostyle zip up top and was talking like a farmer when everyone was wearing black and yellow.

Birmingham City in the 90s. Last day of their kop. They'd already knocked down the away terrace so our allocation was tiny and sold out. Went into their end and just as things were starting to look a bit hairy they scored and we were able to pile onto the pitch and get away from the group that was looking increasingly 'interested' in us.
