Good morning one and all. The eruption of Mount Pinatubo inĀ 1991 was arguably the catalyst for both the US Navy and Air Force to leave the Philippines. The outflows of volcanic ash, known as Lahar, was the second highest in the 20th century. Much of it landed on Central Luzon, covering the streets of Manila some 100km to the south, while the landscape and river flows of Pinatubo's province of Zambales has, for a generation, been transformed. Wide river basins turn
