Our fans were appalling last night. Didn't see the HT stuff but too many pissed up thinking they're bad. Only there to start trouble. Next year will be a bubble because of the clowns. Oh well, don't win there anyway.

Our fans weren't exactly appalling, obviously there was a few who were intent to cause trouble just like Cardiff but the majority were well behaved and were there to support the team

So out of 2000 away fans you make this sweeping statement!

Maybe it was just where I was sat but after HT it seemed I had at least 50 complete c***s around me that come up after the commotion underneath the seats. Climbing over me to scream obscenities to Cardiff fans that couldn't hear them. They were shocking compared to any other away game I've been to

So no different to any Cardiff away day then? No different to any other more notable away game where you have a bunch of guys screaming obscenities at home fans. I've also been to enough away games to witness that (we all have). But to make a sweeping statement of 2000+ fans being appalling is just ridiculous

Oh so it's ok because it's Cardiff? That's ridiculous. I'm sure many were fine but it was embarrassing on a whole. The idiots there made Bristol City as a whole look awful. Embarrassed to be associated with the clowns there and you should be too

Right, just to set the record straight, did I say it was alright? I said it was no different to any other Cardiff away day and notable away game

It definitely wasn't embarrassing on a whole whatsoever. I'm not embarrassed, Thought our fans were excellent from start to finish getting behind the team and making as much noise as humanly possible

I don't particularly care tbh because there is nothing you can do, I've been in caught in the middle of fans who are more boisterous but what are you going to do? Turn around and tell them to keep the level of obscenity down? You just let them get on with it and if it goes too far then the police or stewards deal with them accordingly. Whatever happened in the concourse at HT is embarrassing but I saw a vid being posted around and I can assure you it wasn't just CIty,

City fans were setting off smoke bombs and throwing fire crackers. For those of you who remember riaz from here, one of our 'fans' walked up to him and growled '******* isis'. He was with his kid who was totally petrified.

Funny how the same group of 'lads' weren't so brave when they came face to face with cardiff outside without the police and a 20 foot fence protecting them. They suddenly became very quiet!!

If anybody on here speaks to riaz, please pass on my best to him. I don't know the guy personally but what I witnessed yesterday just wasn't on.

Spoke with Riaz..your version of events isn't exactly right.

Two loud bangs went off at half time and some pissed up kiddy turned and said something along the lines of "******* hell.  Watch out for ISIS"

Riaz doesn't think he even realised he was a dark skinned person

I did let them get on with it but it doesn't make it ok because it's a "high profile" away match. Not saying you said it's ok but it's why you can't drink during a match, it's why there are bubble matches and why football fans have the reputation they do. Those few idiots make a reputation throughout England. You get those few that thinks it's ok to cause trouble(I threw a left hook at a steward hope I'm not on camera I don't need another banwas one quote I heard last night). They cause problems with the opposition fans that think it's alright. It gets recorded and plastered all over social media then in internationals everyone wants to fight with the English. Those lot need sorting out because yes, of the 2000 there, I'm sure 1800 were there just to enjoy a football match. So yes, when we go to Cardiff or Birmingham, all 2000 are treated as suspects before the game even starts and many innocent people get caught up in things. Look at Birmingham last year. It's embarrassing for the club and the majority of fans that just want to support the club.

Never mind that , quick let's all make a public apology just incase some one is offended, and once they have finished being offended by that , let me know what we have to say sorry for next

Let's not the truth get in the way of faux outrage of the narrative that white working class young men are hooligans and racist scum.

Not surprised there were a few idiots there last night as all week there have been people on the FB group asking for tickets when they were still on sale. Just leaves me to think that perhaps they have a banning order or something as why you just wouldnt buy from the shop or online who knows , cant think of any other reason.

You know what you're gonna get in Cardiff - I don't like it, so don't go. Simple. I love a good sing and getting so pissed I can't walk straight down the train home, but fire crackers, police escorts and trashing pubs just isn't for me. Doubt I'll ever go Cardiff again, and haven't been for a while.

Joe I think you would of enjoyed visiting Ninian Park in the 80's and 90's...it would of given you plenty more to get your knickers in a twist about......what sort of behaviour were you expecting from Cardiff away on a Friday night.....I wasn't there btw

Different cultures I'm sure attribute to it. There is no need to climb on other people's seats and backs and there is no need to fight stewards and police which is what was going on. Don't mind hostility and language at all but there are bits that the game can do without.

Over 50 fans climbing over you?, you must be really bruised this morning!

You certainly were unlucky, where I was sat it was hard just to squeeze past anyone in my row.

One other thing can only assume you must have been sat near the segregation? ANYONE that's been to Cardiff before will know there is abuse flying backwards and forwards around there, if you are that easily offended I do wonder why you sat there

No was right in the middle. It's ok though. I understand now. It's away at Cardiff so it's ok for people to get into your personal space and climb on you shout and spit all over you in a drunken state. All in the name of football. Good one. Is that exceptable when you go out for a meal or the cinema? No it isn't and it isn't on for a football match either. There is passion and there is being an ass. This was the latter. I know the difference. Shame you and many others can't see it but it's why there are restrictions and people get bans. It's why people can't make it to matches because of the stigma of football fans that they get swept away and escorted back on a train to Bristol with doing nothing wrong. Don't bring women and children because it's a football match and it's supposed to get rough. No it's a few idiots that make it hell for anyone else.

Stick to watching shit like the Lion King (if that's not too violent for you) at the cinema then...

Last night was a pretty tame affair really.

No it's football. You can do what you want. Clowns. Ok to whack the stewards and set off fireworks in people faces. No one likes you lot. You go to football to enjoy yourself. It is you lot that ruin football and why there will be clear board in front of the pitch and seats moving further and further back. You're ruining your own game.

Calm down Joe, all in all a tame affair last night compared to every other time I've been to Cardiff

No it's fine. All I've said is what I saw and heard last night which was embarrassing. Maybe it was just where I was sat. I've not been to another away game nearly as embarrassing as that. Talk of punching stewards and police like it's some sort of badge of honour. Setting fireworks off and throwing them around. Childish behaviour and as I've said it was probably only 100 or so causing the trouble but it looks bad as a whole. Then you wonder why places like Cardiff and Birmingham have uncomfortable police presences that make it more uncomfortable for everyone else. It's a shame really.

Joe, I don't mean this to come across as patronising.. but am I right in saying that you're American and only just started following us relatively recently? (Which I think is great btw)

Perhaps that's why you seem a bit more surprised at events/hostility at Cardiff than the rest of us. It's very normal for these games and matches vs Rovers are far worse.
