bristolcitysweden
Players are not robots. It's in their backbone how to react in a rapidly occuring situation. The manager or the game plan has got nothing to do with it. Self evident.

He looks a right misery and his body language is so negative. Life and soul of the party...not. Keep up, spud - we've been carefully and deliberately not signing the "life and soul of the party" sorts for a few years now. You know - all that "doing your homework" and "DNA" carry on - so we avoid signing p1ss head wasters, like we had years ago under Wilson and others, and bring in serious young men who will dedicate themselves to self and team-improvement and earning the club a tidy profit. And when we slip up and inadvertently sign a "life and soul" sort (or p1sshead) and he rocks up to Cheltenham races and "has a few" and stands giggling next to a bloke with his John Thomas dingling over the balcony, we offload him sharpish to some p1sspot club like Leeds. spudski
I have serious reservations about Matthews JD...the only player in our squad I have questioned tbh. Not on his ability...but in his application of what is being asked of him. I've said it from pretty the beginning of the season....time will tell. Mathews has ability, but application seems to be missing, and that has no place in our squad. It is a key position in the modern game, maybe even one of the toughest to fill, but neither Mathews or Little are of the required standard and LJ knows it. I think LJ thinks Matthews is one of the best RB's in the Championship...but has shown his frustration at Matthews lack of application to getting himself mentally and physically match prepared. I agree...it seems his lack of application and desire is the problem...maybe not his ability that could be unharnessed.

He had no support defensively for much of the game and then found he wasn't able to attack the space in front of him because no one was in a position to cover him I'm still struggling to understand what LJ was trying to achieve with his tactics at the weekend LJ has left his full backs exposed in a few games recently. Matthews is utter class and could really transform our season along with Korey back in the side.

Bo Andersons dietician
I do wonder what LJs comment 'a couple of misdemeanours' refers to... On the face of it his attitude absolutely stinks. Frozen out at Sunderland under Allardyce and then Moyes didn't feel he deserved a fresh start either. I'd imagine the coaching staff warned him off. Such a shame because he was a class act for a very short spell last season. He just doesn't seem to 'want it'. A right back needs to be top of our shopping list in January. Fiale
Not only did Mark Little start on the right side of the back four, teenage England youth international Taylor Moore was preferred to Matthews on the substitutes' bench as Johnson sought to make a point. Asked about his decision to leave out Matthews after the game, which Birmingham won 1-0, Johnson referred to a " couple of misdemeanors." Get them latest Bristol City news, views and transfer rumours with our live blog He told The Post: "He is fine now. It's nothing major, just a couple of little misdemeanors that could be unfortunate or could be misunderstandings. We have to send the message out to the squad to make sure everybody is fully focused on getting a result." So he comes to us unfit, he then is injured, suffered a few illnesses, still unfit enough to play a full 90 minutes and he has committed "misdemeanors" so Johnson left him out of the squad as punishment ? What the hell, just send him back, we are not punishing him by leaving him out of the squad we are punishing ourselves - send him back, save some money and just save the coaches, medics, physios, manager and team all the time that would otherwise be wasted on him.
