Agree - Great respect for his courage and professionalism in relation to this

People react differently and he may have felt it would help him to distract his grief just for a couple of hrs and be around the players 

hope it helped him a little bit at a horrific time

I've amended the title, so no further comment needed about spelling please. 

Grief and shock affects people differently, I guess he just needed to do something 'normal' and be at the match. Horrible, horrible thing to deal with at any time and nothing can prepare you for hearing that news, whoever you are. Condolences to him and his family.

As always, the divide amongst us evaporates at times such as this, and I'm sure that your respectful condolences are very much appreciated.

It was DC's grandmother who died, his mother passed away when he was four years old, and his grandmother had brought him up from thereon.  I'll be giving my mum an extra tight hug next time I visit, and counting my blessings.
