That opening post is on the money in many respects though and is equally applicable to pretty much any club; certainly applicable to us.

I really don't remember people expecting so much or hearing any real negativity unless there was an actual crisis.  I'm not saying that OTIB is full of moaners; far from it there are a lot of excellent and generally positive posters.

We don't however seem any more to just enjoy it on the simple terms that we used to enjoy it; and I include myself within that very sweeping statement.

That's probably down to a) social media and b) getting old!

A bit like the whole Babe station debacle, was probably just them showing off because they’ve bought a TV licence..!

The Babestaion thing was completely brilliant.  As was them saying the person responsible needed more training.  Yeah, he needed to be trained to not watch porn while he is at work :D

The difference is they aspire to be what we are. Although they try constantly to compare themselves to us favourably, some on their forum realise just how far ahead we now are and there's bugger all they can do about it.

We, on the other hand, have a forum thread just taking the piss out of them.

The day we stopped comparing ourselves to that pile of crap is the day we started becoming a far better club than even we were previously.

Quite. Their aspiration is to be one place above us, in whatever division that maybe. Our aspirations are to be the best we can possibly be.

I'm sorry to say that I'm all for rubbing their noses in our domination as often as possible from any source. Maybe some of the people saying we should rise above it don't remember what it was like having them give it the big 'un over us for years.

Mind you, they're miserable enough anyway without our help haha

Loved the “30 years ago everyone had a crap stadium, now it’s just us”!

Looks like the sags are finally seeing through Wael and his mirage

Anyone noticed a couple of marquees and some benches dumped by a roadside on their travels  ?

The one BBSB has just brought up

Considering he's been absolutely rinsed on here, humiliated on their forum and proven to be a liar by the police, I'll give him credit for being a persistent bugger. Totally full of shit but persistent! Either that or he just needs a life. ?️?

I think the difference is it would be Scotty doing it in a personal capacity. Doing it officially from the club looks a bit classless...

Quite like it myself. Don’t consider it particularly classless, certainly not compared with their beloved Holloway claiming the only good City fan is one that’s dead

Do Port Vale fans warn Stoke or do County supporters wind up the Forest faithful with "We're coming for you" or do they have the sense to accept facts?

Notts County are high achievers, compared to the Munsters. At least they have been in the top flight, and have a half decent ground.

Oooh that's interesting, - didn't realise that @JulieH had gone public on the outcome of their meeting! :fear:

If our official channels are now blatantly taking the piss out of them, directly... now could be a good time to tighten the screw and invite all Rovers season ticket holders to a free match ticket at Ashton Gate. Just to show them the vast gulf in difference between us. Maybe even pinch a few of their more disillusioned fans.

The only problem would be, when..?

They don’t have international breaks. They travel away in such huge numbers, that that’s no good.

It would need to be a weekend when they won’t have a fixture, or as other clubs call it, FA Cup 2nd round day..!

Mind The Gap? Love it!

We're a million miles ahead of them and they'll never catch us.

That clip alone highlights an Academy player who's gone onto the Premier League (along with Aden and BR). A fabulous rebuilt stadium. We buy players for millions (Fammy, Weimann etc). Beat 4 PL sides in last years Carabao Cup.

They have tents with no canvas, no row M, a record transfer fee only £75k more than a player they rated at £10m but went for peanuts...that's stood since about 1985 or something....celebrated a win at Wycombe like they'd won the league then promptly got dumped out of the same league by a team wearing their own kit (!), and resort to getting players who aren't even first choice at the clubs they're leaving. The list goes on.

Like i say, a million miles apart.

I wouldn't have done it if I worked there as comes across to other clubs as pretty poor, BUT if it gets under their skin then so what! Clarkes "happy days" quote, all the Windass stuff, Wally "paid 300k for something that you could have for nothing in a few months", Wally being carried down Glos Rd, our scores being flashed up etc etc according to many Sags are all legendary stuff. We do the Colin Daniel thing and it is "bang out of order" so I was told!! ?

Buying Colin Daniel a bottle of champagne was also on par of TWICE booking Dean Windass for their dopey tote end Xmas party according to them aswell. Strangest fan base in Britain.

This post on asschat sums it up perfectly

I think a lot of the moaning all comes down to the stadium... or lack of.
It’s like a little lad being promised in June he’ll get a new scalextric set for Christmas only to wake up Xmas morning to find you’ve been given just a second hand matchbox car. Repeat yr after yr.
To top it off the kid down the road you hate has got the present that you wanted and gloats constantly,

The third round of the cycling Tour of Britain took place today in Bristol. Clearly the organisers of the Tour have no preconception of the devastating effect that holding this event so close to a 15ers home match is likely to have upon their gate. That this event should have been held as the gas supporters still come to terms with the newly installed foot pedal controlled, completely automated turnstiles is a low blow indeed.

A match against a well supported Plymouth Argyle team should easily attract a 10k crowd but I suspect that it now won't even reach 9k and it will all be the fault of the cycling. Oh and the turnstiles. Oh and the missing Row M.
