If they can't manage 7k attendees in Div 3, What are their gates and season ticket sales likely to be in Div 4 next year?

Will Cockman still be their manager if he takes them down?

Will Wally still be trying to find a willing buyer (mug) for the club or will they fall into administration and reform 2 divisions below and surpass their visit to the conference?

Will they still need the shiny new stadium they all crave for in the basement of the football league?

It must be horrible being a Sag at the moment, but to be fair, when wasn't it?

To be fair to them, scoring a last minute goal against the mighty Accrington Stanley to scrape promotion out of league two must have been a big moment in their history.

As was the time when they beat grimsby on penalties to reach the promised land of the football league...

It's not all doom and gloom being a gashead

The Guardian has been mentioned on this forum several times today, and I came across this earlier when reading an article about our former player, Herbie Kane.

There are a few teams who have won their league with a defender as top scorer. "In the 2001-02 season Plymouth Argyle won Division Three with a then record total of 102 points,” notes Tom Aldous. “Our joint top scorer was current Bristol Rovers manager Graham Coughlin with 11 goals. I imagine that all of them were imperious headers from set pieces."

Perhaps he will turn out to be the striker they have been looking to sign in this window; their new player-manager even.

It was worse than that JB - their last gasp goal to clinch that promotion out of league two was against Dagenham & Redbridge!!

I dunno, on loan Tomlin was great and oh look I'm on sky v Huddersfield Tomlin was a world beater...

But yeah, tbf SP it's a fair observation over all.

Tomlin, on loan, played a key role in keeping us up. He was the quality we were desperately in need of. The free-kick winner at Fulham was critical, and brilliant. What a moment.

Johnson will never forget the lesson learned from signing Tomlin, despite his reputation. A learning experience for a young coach no amount of visits to European clubs for personal development could ever come close to matching.

Lee came through the toxic, corrosive Tomlin season, binning individual talent and turning to team spirit and effort (with Matty Taylor), and we came through it, and both our much the wiser, and stronger, for it.

The morons jeering last night are clueless.

There`s a thread over there about them hoping to sign Brett Pitman. Most would appear to be happy if they did (understandably - he does know where the net is unlike most of the shite they`ve got) but there are some that don`t want him `cuz he`s a gurt ted`. He would probably keep them up but they don`t want him because he used to play for us - idiots!

They are also advocating doing harm to Matty Taylor should he sign for Sunderland and end up playing at the swamp in a week or two. One melt has also suggested that SL`s prime reason for selling him to Sunderland would be to deprive the s*gs of a Wembly appearance.

When you have moderators making death threads on a public forum, it is not surprising that scientists use the GasChat forum to study primitive life forms - a primeval swamp of a forum matched only in depravity by their "stadium" ...

Yes...yes thats right, you paranoid belters.

SL really cares that much about your hilarious little club that it would bother him greatly if you got to the final of a cup competition that’s become worthless.

Whilst we’re at it, why don’t we send Famara, Josh Brownhill, O Dowda and Lloyd Kelly to Southend as theyre playing the Sags on Saturday?

What’s the point in such a low release clause as well!  Even if it was secret it wouldn’t take long to trigger it!

The release clause was 0.8 of a tilson tbf, that's a big fee for rovers...

They're still going on about the release clause being 'leaked'

What's the point of a release clause if you don't want anyone to know about it...

There wasn’t a leak it was a valid transfer deal,

they are bitter because we had there pants down and our continual raise against their free fall

Ironically their complaint on another thread about Payne is that he's useless in their team because he's purely a finisher in that he can't create his own chances but relies upon a service into the box from midfield that isn't being delivered.

Now my memory of Brett Pitman was that he was absolutely identical; he was purely a finisher.  Somebody like Akinbiyi could pick the ball up in midfield and create a goal out of nowhere but Brett didn't have that speed, strength and dribbling ability but was a great finisher.

Fingers crossed that Brett doesn't go there as they'll be slagging him off as much as they do Payne because they will have again signed the wrong forward for the way their team plays.
