Only Rovers could get the only Middle Eastern owners who won't spend money.

Only Rovers would be desperate enough to grab the first offer that came along..!

Gillingham were slightly more inquisitive and refused their involvement.

It’s not done them much good performance wise, but at least they are relatively stable and haven’t had their ground mortgaged to the hilt..!

Actually, thinking about it... what is the Al Qadi’s attraction to temporary stands..?!

First choice Gillingham, second choice Rovers. If you’d rebuffed their advances too, I’m not sure where else they could have satisfied their apparent fetish. Crawly is the only other one I can think of.

It will be interesting to see how the fake sheikh can actually sell something that is worthless. He would have to find some mug who's prepared to pay double its worth and that will never happen so administration must soon be looming whilst they fade away and recoupe their expenditure and make a substantial profit by building houses on that land earmarked for a training facility. And where did that original expenditure come from? By borrowing money against the only asset which is the swamp.

In true Sag style they went completely over the top with their celebrations in attracting new owners regardless of whether it was going to bring them any future success or not. They were desperate, absolutely desperate, and Mr “Hello, unlucky da shit” was your typical Sag. Not just content with having new owners, but just couldn’t resist the temptation to have a dig at City. This is why they are the gift that keeps on giving. Had he not mentioned “da shit” then he wouldn’t have got half as much stick, but he couldn’t help himself and totally dropped his pants without waiting to see exactly how the Al Qadis would run the club.

He wasn’t alone. The “It’s official, oldest, wealthiest club in the West” picture came out, goading Ted’s.

Most sensible people (which was most City fans and a number of cautious Sags) wanted to see some evidence that the Al Qadis were going to invest and move the Sags forward before getting caught up in the hype, but right from the very first interview with Hamer you got the impression that the takeover wasn’t quite the scenario that Sags had been spouting off about whilst goading us. If you watch Steve Hamers interviews and check out his body language (not what he says) you can see that he is very guarded. I smelt a rat very early on, but it seems that deluded Sags were caught up in finishing 2nd in the Conference, having an open top bus tour to celebrate and carrying Wally down Gloucester Road like he was some sort of Messiah, even though all he had done at the time was to invest in a new scoreboard.

Now the polish is well and truly off of the turd the Sags are acting like victims again. Well Saggies, you set yourselves up for a massive fall. You should have been content with still having a club instead of giving it the biggun to the Teds. You will never learn though. You are driven by impulse, a deep rooted jealousy of anything and everything City and a constant belief that you are hard done by with off the scale delusions of grandeur. As long as you continue to be like that this thread will always exist, as will your gifts.

I think the word ‘Biggest’ was also used iirc.

Utterly laughable, Swindon are older and we’ve been a League club FAR longer than the Sags.

Wealthiest? HAHAHAHAHA

Biggest? They really do bring it on themselves ?

You are talking like there’s no chance they are going to reach the premier league in the next 2 years...!

You wont be laughing then...!

The figure that was banded around a lot during the takeover was The Arab Jordan Investment Bank, which the Al Qadi family founded had £1.7 billion in total assets.Which created a HUGE misconception. They also have liabilities of £1.5 billion. So their business has approximately £200m in net assets with £197m being attributable to the bank's shareholders. Now take into consideration that the Al Qadi family only own around a 30% share in the business. Meaning we have the Al Qadi family at around £60m net wealth. They have investments in other businesses but the bank is their main source of wealth.

Well said William !

Did you hear that Forest Green turned down the offer of talks about a permanent ground share ?

Don't tell me, Vince had a plan, everything split down the middle 50/50.

Rovers said, 'Tell ya what, you pay for everything, and what we will do is agree to buy it off you for a fiver if it all goes tits...'

FGR turn this down.

Fewers then say, 'okay - why don't we pay for the letters 'R.O.V.E.R.S' on the stadium signage, we will both benefit from that. But we want 70% of everything.

In all seriousness though, sounds like an interesting proposal. Was this for a new stadium, or was Dale going to let you take your tents down to his place?

There has been a Bristol City in Bristol since 1897 , and a R*vers since 1899.
Bristol City have been a League club since 1901 , they joined in 1920.
These are some of the facts I threw at a mate recently when he played the 1982 card, funny enough it ended there.

They will then demand the use of AG as thats obviously what the whole of football wants to see...

Perhaps they are trying to target all the non Bristolians who have moved here and haven’t yet been to see a game in Bristol? So instead of embarrassing themselves by putting their own ‘ground’ on the article and people mistaking the Mem for Eastville market they publish a lovely picture of a proper stadium hoping to fool people into buying a season ticket.

Either that or a gurt ted is shithousing the lot of them, or those who run that shambles really are as thick as shit as they continue to prove.

There is absolutely no mention of the photo over at s*g central. I thought they`d be in meltdown with a whole raft of ludicrous conspiracy theories about how it got there.

You can`t tell me at least one of them hasn`t spotted it or does their ignorance mean they have no idea what they`re looking at?

Why would they complain? Makes them look like a professional club for once ?

I wonder when they will realise that Bath isn't in Bristol?

Oh for SL to purchase them and immediately turn them into a darts team.....although, anyone getting three numbers in the lottery could probably afford to buy that shambles.....

The winner of this week’s Euromillions is based in the UK and earned £75m which is more than @bodin earlier estimated, in this thread, to be the net worth of the entire al Qadi family. No doubt Wael will already be trying to find that lucky punter to see if he’d like to buy a football team (one careful owner but a whole heap of crap ones).

Selling a football club isn’t easy, Wael. These things take time.

Anyone know the release clause of their current goal machine? Harris is it? Could be that 2 up with taylor

Personally I would say after the whole Taylor fiasco I would assume the club wouldn't be that stupid. Especially since Taylor's circumstances were he refused to commit unless there was a release clause as he'd wanted to join Oxford. And Coughlan being a massive fan of his I can't see him having been okay with a release clause either, calling him one of the best strikers in the league when he signed (although both City and Rovers fans alike laughed he doesn't look wrong right now), and Clarke-Harris wouldn't have much need to demand one imo.

BUT. It's Rovers so you never know, and Lee Johnson was a massive fan of his when he was at Oldham.
