People moaning about over rates , when they (both sides) are serving up extrodinary entertainment ?

12 or 15 overs an hour isn’t relevant

Of course it’s relevant.  3 overs an hour is about an hours play lost over a whole day.  Over rate and entertainment are not mutually exclusive. It’s possible to have both. If fans are paying over £100 for tickets should they just accept losing 15-20% of the game? Test match cricket needs to help itself as it has stiff competition with other forms of the game. Teams used to bowl 14-15 overs an hour and now they bowl 11-12. It’s completely unnecessary.

Could not agree more. England were shocking yesterday even with Leach bowling a lot of overs. They have to get a grip of it ban the captain for a series if it keeps happening.

Another advantage of this way of playing is that it almost takes the 2nd new ball out of the equation, they could have a big lead in the next 20 overs if Bairstow keeps this up.

*Edit* or Broad :)

Or potts

Or Leach!

Mad to think that there can one innings over 150 can be better than another but, considering the position of the game, that is possibly one of the greatest innings I have seen.

Up there with  Botham's also at Headingley?
