Clinical by England. Windies ran out of puff . Strength in depth crucial

Windies had to rotate their seam attack for the last test, Gabriel was no where near fit enough to play again so soon

Why do we always seem to start a series so badly? Great series win in the end though.

I don't think we started so badly, just made a poor call on the toss.  I'd argue the WI made the wrong call on both the following tests having won the toss.

I think someone said we have lost 8 out of the last 10 first tests. (I might be wrong mind!)

Anybody any idea why George Dockrell is not playing for Ireland?

Injured, or not suitable for the playing conditions?

Just not selected, he's over here in the squad though so may play later in the format

Ireland traveled with a 21 man squad to be used in all three ODI's  against England (and the warm up games).

The 21-man squad is:

  • Andrew Balbirnie (c)
  • Paul Stirling (vc)
  • Mark Adair
  • Curtis Campher
  • Peter Chase
  • Gareth Delany
  • George Dockrell
  • Jonathan Garth
  • Tyrone Kane
  • Josh Little
  • Andrew McBrine
  • Barry McCarthy
  • James McCollum
  • Kevin O’Brien
  • William Porterfield
  • Boyd Rankin
  • Simi Singh
  • Harry Tector
  • Lorcan Tucker
  • Gary Wilson
  • Craig Young

Good effort from us in the end. England should win handily enough but to make a bit of a game of it from 28-5 isn't bad.

Not the start you lot wanted, but both teams probably rusty...

Unfortunate for TB. Another chance wasted...

Its classic England, pick an opener and expect him to perform out of position in the order. Banton's strength has been attacking from the off and exploiting powerplays etc

Odds on Banton not getting a chance to open the batting before being binned off

And then told he has to sign for Surrey/Yorkshire/Lancashire to get another chance
