Trouble vs Wall!!!!!!!!??????

Evil Post and tabloids claiming this!!!!

I exited Landsdown, passed right through some very, very well mannered Millwall fans exiting too, not a sign of any aggression, passed through police cordon up by the park, where our "Burbury Apes" were assembled, police on them, as they attempted to cross the park police rounded them up, the herd then charged or were driven up into the corner by Frayne Rd. I guess the assembled brain cell continued to wander around looking for trouble. I drove up on the Portway where I saw a small group of Millwall fans under heavy escort, I presume to TM! Feel a bit embarrassed about the level of policing placed upon them. More annoyed that tabloids are hyping up stuff again, or did I miss some widespread disorder?

I walked out at the Lansdown/Atyeo corner and there were a lot of police around but all I could see of the Millwall fans was a few middle aged blokes in baseball caps trying to look hard and  giving it the old five knuckle shuffle gesture from behind the lines.

It looked quite sad really.

Altogether now:

"You're not scary, you're not scary, you're not scary anymore"

We parked on Frayne Road and walked through the park. There were some yoofs running about, closely followed by Police.

We got back and into car just as the bellowing started and others started to get "excited".

Seemed to be coming from the back of the changing rooms ;)

Worst we saw was this silly bastard trying to get out of Lidl on North Street in a red Audi.

A middle aged woman giving us the finger, threatening to get out and then drive into the side of us.

Couldn't see if she was Stone Island or Burberry!

I didn't see any disorder myself as I got straight on the Abus after the game. I did get a message from a friend later though, claiming that Millwall fans were trying to turn cars over on the dual carriageway!

Talking of which, it's now £2 for a single!! I only ever get the Abus home and am used to paying £1. I believe it's still £2 return.

Very sad,

I'm in the Lower Lansdown - block near the Atyeo - there were 4 blokes near me who were definitely old enough to know better (40 -50 year olds) who spent practically the whole match staring into the Millwall fans and continually making the 'anker sign, the D'head sign, and another I didn't get (patting the top of their heads?) while silently mouthing threats (I presume) at - well - no one in particular.  The looked like some rather unoriginal repetitive pavement mime artists.................rhythmically gesturing, mouths working furiously, but no sounds coming out.  They disappeared 10 mins before HT to get more cider..............I half expected them to return with their faces covered in white make up!

I was held up on Coronation road after the game as police vans kettled a bunch of west country Stone Island models against the Avon Packet, just as a large group of London Trainspotters were marched by on their way to the station.

I was very worried for the well being of those kettled on the side of the road. They were clearly very cold as they all had their hoods up tied shut with scarves around their faces. I hope they have warmed up since and didn't catch a chill.

I didn't leave the area until a good 30-45 mins after the game, as we walked back to the car we could hear loads of sirens, and I mean loads,  which went on for ages. Hard to tell which direction exactly but Park or Tobacco factory. Don't know what was going on, must admit I expected to read there had been a lot of trouble somewhere.

I came across a group of Millwall fans in Bower Ashton who had wandered away from the trouble, the old bill and their sheep dogs....all they wanted was to be allowed to walk peacefully to Parson St or Temple Meads. I had to inform them that the nearest station in that particular direction was Nailsea and Backwell! They weren't there on Sunday morning so I guess they got home....

*********... !!!

(Police seemed to have their work cut out for them for a few minutes, one rather excitable copper (the small one with the long batton.... got what appears to have been a sneaky OTT baton whack in, .. could be complaints about that... but in fairness not being there seeing and hearing exactly what the situation was - maybe the coppers action was justified... but he certainly looked a little 'excitable' to say the least.. small man syndrome perhaps?)  No need for anyone to get excited though if the morons looking for trouble weren't and simply behaved.

I believe that's separate to the stuff in the park after. Nobody has any film of that I dare say. Part of the same thing maybe? Definitely saw 3 police vans going into park though post match.

Luckily the police have footage of the disorder in the park!

i worked Saturday and can confirm there was a small fight prematch on Ashton road that was between 2 groups of * so called fans*.

post match there was a larger fight in the park between millwall and city, lots of footage from police officers which we will review. Millwall were then escorted to Bristol temple meads whilst a group of city loosely followed them via the back streets of Ashton.

there was an incident during the game near to and at the colaseum pub in Redcliffe between millwall and city fans who chose not to go to the game. Again footage being reviewed.

i thought overall except for this very small minority both sets of fans were great, and no smoke genades( although no goals!)

A fight at the Colosseum eh?

Forget the Arena at Temple Meads, we need a gurt big Colosseum for pitched battles between rival football hooligans.

Could even chuck a few wild animals in to liven it up.

I'd pay to watch that.

Let's be fair the football was crap and both sets of supporters decided to entertain the masses , fair Doo. Some terribly frightening old boys had a comeback for the game when perhaps the should've know better .

I thank the police for keeping it mostly tight in and around Ashton for us normal fans, I was in no mood for a ruck as I'm on crutches
