Nice comment on the Rams forum by a poster called NottsRam77...

'went today...

quite simply we were beaten by the better side.

out manoevered and at times out classed

watching it i was thinking to myself this bristol side is probably in terms of style the sort of thing that rowett is trying to move us towards

Raw power and pace up top , graft and mobility in midfield and then plenty of pace and trickery on the flanks - leko absolutely destroyed us all afternoon, was simply excellent, all held together by a couple of no nonesense centre halves at the back

is it lee johnson there in charge? Done a very good job.... but it hasnt happend overnight has it.'

  1. I watched on BCTV and, for once, saw most of the game.  I have to say that I thought BC were brilliant - some of the best football I have ever seen in watching BC for nearly fifty years.  I am talking about skill which, for so long, was pushed aside by effort.  Today, skill was king.  Long live skill!

Totally agree with your first point Bill, City were simply outstanding today. I doubt many Championship sides could have lived with us on that performance, second half especially.

Now, what were the other points you wanted to make?

I watched the game live on TV, that was my opinion over the whole time he was on the field, you may have a different opinion and you are entitled to that's why it's called an opinion.

So you weren't actually there and you're judging your opinion on what you watched on the telly, unbelievable

What again?? ;)

I'll hold my hands up here. I was adamant that Johnson had to go after the Fulham game last season but have to admit, that was brilliant!

Humble pie being ate here, well done LJ, you're proving me wrong. Long may it continue.

Same here mate, enjoying my football again under LJ

That was the best I've seen us play for quite some time. I think the word that keeps popping into my head is 'controlled', from start to finish I thought we were in control. When we went 0-1 down, I thought to myself, we will see what we have got now. & what a response! Listening to the team lineups before kickoff, I thought wow, what a squad they have got. But that performance just reiterates to me that we are doing things the correct way. Not just the starting 11, but our subs bench looks so strong. & there are a few players out that would be in with a shout of being in the squad. Great performance from all. COYR

Oh I don't know about that.  I wasn't actually in a galaxy far, far away, but from my seat in the cimena I thought Star Wars was a pretty darn good film.

Nothing. Could've not posted anything and waited until our next loss.

Next loss?? We have list one in eight, add to that beating Watford away and 'muff I can't see why he had to wait this long to give LJ some credit, like I said he was embarrassed and he tried to save face, nope, not buying it, if anything it makes him look worse. He could have lambasted our defence at least, Flint in particular, after all who picks the team?

From a Derby fans forum.

"Derby were second best for most of the game. Bristol’s players were fitter, they worked harder, and their
skill and teamwork were superior. Derby’s players behaved as if the game was won when they scored.
They didn’t have another shot on goal until the second half - just two on target for the whole match - and
they sat back inviting attacks from their more energetic opponents. The score probably flattered Derby".

It's always good to read realistic comments from opposing fans. An enjoyable match that Derby contributed to until half time. Derby will play worse and win and we'll play better and lose. That's what makes this league so interesting.

Not going to go through the whole thread, but wanted to add my thoughts

Pato - I can't love this bloke any more. Said at the start of the season he'd be key this year, thought he was superb

Leko - had me out of my seat everytime he had the ball. Give him 2 or 3 years and he's going to be a hell of a player

Bobby - always wanted him to succeed, being one of our own. He looked like he owned the Gate today. Love seeing how he's come on

Flint, Wright, Baker - superb

Pack - he ain't flashy, just does what he's told to do. And does it well

Korey - Shelton-esque, must have touched every blade of grass on that pitch today

An excellent performance. If you had told me we'd have 7 points from Reading and Wolves away and Derby at home I'd have laughed. I had turned on LJ after Preston last season, but I can't tell you how much I want the man to succeed. After today I might just start believing. Took my two eldest today, first time all 3 of us had been to a game together, will live long in the memory. Thank you all, without being over dramatic about it all, I will remember this afternoon for a long time. Having 3 girls I always worried they wouldn't be interested, days like today make it easier for me to keep their interest in football going

And it wouldn't have happened at all if the panickers had had their way.

To be fair LJ was very very lucky to keep his job and you can't blame the fans for getting on his back at the time, 99% of other chairmen would of sacked him but fair play to all concerned, yesterday's performance was an absolute pleasure to watch

Don't understand why Patto is anywhere near set pieces. Eithed too close to the keeper or straight out of play.

Leko has some serious talent, have a feeling we are gonna have some fun watching him this season!

Woodrow looks good, real nuisance for the CBs always backing in and winning free kicks. Should have had an assist for his ball to Leko.

Real shame we are behind, absolutely dominating. Guess this is how reading fans felt!

Awkward !
