So the income does not cover the outgoings by some  considerable margin. I wonder where it all goes, as if we didnt know The problem will never get sorted untill the greed of players, managers etc is addressed. Lets face it all they do is kick an inflated bit of leather.

Running a professional football club has never been profitable for the majority of clubs. Harry Dolman had to put £50,000 into the club in 1960 to keep it going. And that was in the days of a maximum wage for all players around £17 to £18 per week and entrance cost around 3 shillings for adults.

Even in the early days of football, in order to travel to a match at Ashton Gate against City in 1905 (approx) a Man U director had to fund the train fares and the cost of fish & chips on the journey back to Manchester.

So whatever players are paid, the gate money will never cover playing staff wages. Even at the level of small clubs like Bristol Manor Farm, I'd bet someone is subsidising it.

If you consider that all they do is kick a bit of leather you do not understand it at all. For the fans, it is an escape from the drudgery of ordinary life. A place to forget the crap job, the overdue electricity bill, the kids demanding every penny you earn for the latest "in" gadgets etcetera!

Having said that, I know that the Club have messed up on this aspect by expecting everyone to move seats or pay a lot more. They need to consider that where one sits is also a social thing. I understand why they want to do it but it should be done with more understanding of us and with more compassion for those who will have to move now or in a season or two.

So how many fans will pay £9 for a pack of 20 cigarettes or buy a coffee at COSTA but moan about paying  the equivalent of £2 a day for a season ticket (based on 30 days a month over 10 months for Adult + Child plus admin fee) . Yes it's gone up and without warning and  I would rather it was gradual and spread more evenly across all seats but I still think it's a bargain I want my team to do well and the fans need to support the club financially therefore I will be renewing and forgoing that cup of coffee

Yes it was not only non specific it was anecdotal.

I could be a fantasist, or what I have been posting in this and similar threads could be the result of two decades in the field of disability - care and leisure (sport) services.

Your bold statement in my experience was wildly wrong.

The individuals using the services I support overwhelmingly cannot have more disposable income that virtually all in society. They are not allowed to because of means testing. Differing levels of care components leading to larger payments are again means tested leading to large care costs.

The norm is.

Many (the majority) after care costs, living costs barely have  a pot to piss in. This is why the services I work for costs relate to individuals  DLA/PIP and indirect payments from Social services. Bristol Sport take NONE of this into account.

Bristol City Community trust run disabilities teams. If Bristol Sports same rule of thumb applied there (and thankfully it has not yet!!) they would have no players left as the costs would be prohibitive. The Community Trust there do charge prices in line with other clubs (Charities) in the area, sensible prices - Prices that are in line with DLA/PIP.

"The individuals using the services I support..." is a generalisation on your part.

I maintain, all of the individuals we know are financially better of than some of the individual working families we know - who can not justify the price of watching City.  There is no discount for them.

It is not as fairly means tested, across the board, as you seem to be making out.

I have supported hundreds of individuals, the organisations I work for thousands ... Means testing is thorough. It is also standardised throughout the UK - PIP is a UK wide standardised means tested benefit. That is no generalisation. It is fact.

The testing is miserly, mean spirited, and too frequently cruel to some individuals with LD's ... That is my opinion.

You are constantly moving your goal posts from many to some to all ... Try a few. A tiny percentile can abuse the system. Fraudsters appear to be known to you. In my twenty (+) years of experience I have never supported one individual who knowingly committed fraud.

I have however encountered too many  who financially abused the above ... Another topic.

You are obviously intelligent. Caring? Maybe not. If you are a little more principled and not just on a wind up use that intelligence to think about Bristol Sport actions.

What best practice have they followed?

Here they have targeted people who are often the least able to speak up for themselves, can be vulnerable, have specialist and complex needs and it appears evident that Bristol Sport engaged with nobody ... You either think that is right or wrong.

Final word on the matter from me as we're going in circles; this is not a legal document and the wording has not been as thorough or consistent as it may have been - hence the seeming moving of goal posts.

The people I refer to (four, of the top of my head - three physically disabled, one mentally) are not defrauding the system.  The system has enabled them to live more comfortably than many (non-specific number) working people who are struggling to make ends meat due to the crippling price of private rent.

Do I care about them also? Yes I do.  Can they afford luxuries like football?  Absolutely not.

Football as a whole is ethically corrupt, Bristol Sport are a representation of that and nothing surprises me any more.  POTD prices are disgusting and have been brought about by market forces.  Too many people complying with it for too long (my original point).

Anyway, have a good day, keep up the good work and let's all work together to help bring about a fairer world for ALL.
