Renewed or not renewed. Please post here

Hi all,

I know there’s a thread already, but I thought I’d start one so we can gauge how many people on here have renewed so far, or haven’t renewed based on the current pricing.

If you could also post (if you don’t mind) saying if you are or aren’t affected by the pricing announced at this stage.

For example, I would be

“Not renewed and not affected by pricing”

Hope that makes sense.

Great to see the show of solidarity on here, but I fear at times like this the forum is a vocal minority not representative of the average supporter who is less engaged with the club and the issues surrounding it.  Hope I'm wrong.

I wonder about that too...

Like you, I must say this show of solidarity is very heartening...but how many will just acquiesce and pay the extra price because 'it's just how it is'? Time will tell.

I did, its been obvious since the birth of SLs Bristol Sport that we are now customers and not fans, i don't like it and wont buy into it, its not the club i have supported for over 60 years, 2 years now without a season ticket and TBH i wont be getting another x3.

Not so - ST ticket prices have been an annual complaint fest for a small long as I've had one. I once questioned Sexstone about it but he came out with the standard reply "our prices are comparable with other clubs"

End of debate.

Im not sure what MA had to say at the recent SC&T meeting but I'll bet he said something along those lines.

Most I should think. I will. But that doesn’t stop people voicing their unrest at it now.

I know that most of the people I sit with have already gone ahead and renewed.

For those that do just accept the price increase there will also be those who have found themselves either priced out or uncomfortable with the increase; would imagine that as limited as the reach of this forum is, by 5pm on Saturday lots more people will be aware of the general mood.

Not renewed x4. Still plenty of time yet anyway, no need to be first offering the club money. Let’s see if we get any response from the club to the fan organisations who are representing us. It’s surely only right everyone holds off to give other fans who are affected the most a bigger spotlight.

Is a small long the new 18/12?

That's true enough, and yeah pricing out will become an issue- or uncomfortable with it- word will spread, won't it.

One thing is for sure, if this forum is a decent barometer of the fanbase, then the club will have quite a problem on their hands.

And who’s to say those saying ‘I’m alright Jack’ this year won’t be hit the hardest next? To be fair not many are saying this but there are a few who are sitting pretty smug as they haven’t been affected.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Ouch. That some revenue lost for the club. Good on you Nick.

It will be interesting to see how principled everyone is in the end. Last season I was pissed off because I did not realize I had to renew by the ridiculously early cut off of mid March, or lose our seats which he had had for 30 or so years.I threatened not to renew any of them out of principle, but in the event renewed all the family as they enjoy going, except my own. Then relented during the cup run when we were second in the league and bought a half season ticket!

And that's the problem, Bristol Sport have you over a barrel and they know it as its the cut off your nose scenario.

Cretin? I haven't heard that since I was at school...............:rofl2br:

I will point out that it's very non PC to use that kind of condition in a derogatory manner.

Have you renewed?  That's the point of this thread. I'm sure were all dying to know

Of course I've renewed!  A) I'm a true City fan.  B) I can afford it. That said I am aware that not everyone can afford it.

Apologies @Dollymarie for derailing but can you kindly shove this post back up your arse where I assume it came from. To say you renewed because you are a true City fan implies everyone who hasn't, isn't a true City fan. I care about the fans of this club and want it to be a centre of community in years to come. You on the other hand are doing nothing but being selfish and self indulging yourself because you're alright. I actually couldn't begin to imagine a worse City fan than one who holds that kind of opinion.

A note to the others who have renewed, I'm not taring you with this brush. At least you have voiced your opinion from a place of humility and understanding, rather than from your Ivory tower.

True City fan, so I'll make a stand with my fellow City fans. Not renewed, not impacted, won't renew unless corrected. I will instead use VPN and stream games.

Apologies Dolls.

I didn't derail the thread purposely.

In which case, stop posting inflammatory comments like “i’m a true fan.” It’s not a competition, and as this thread has shown, the majority of people, affected or not, are standing with their fellow fans, rather than it being a “who’s the greatest fan” contest, and I think you know damn well what you were doing by posting the comments you have done.
