Rugby teams have a history of changing their names, football clubs don't, why is this anything to do with the football club?

Offside
I wouldn't be surprised if a football club is re-branded at some point in the near future. Hopefully not us, though. Didn't Hull fans fairly recently have to protest against their owner changing their name to Hull Tigers or something?

He wanted to change the name from Hull City to Hull Tigers or Hull City Tigers I believe, but the FA rejected it. I have no idea why they did though as to be honest there was no real reason for them not to, other than the fans hated it. Aside from the obvious MK Dons thing, Leyton Orient must be the most recent club to change?
