That’s a very poor summary of what he said.  He said we needed strength and leadership, a Roy Keane type player.

Maybe they will get lucky and find such a type somewhere in the next 30 signings. The so called right DNA they keep bringing in isnt working.

I would have thought leadership qualities and mental toughness would be key parts of the DNA. Apparently not though.

Leaders can also be demanding and confrontational. China

Studies have shown that successful  sides have at least 5 or 6 leaders

All the 9 teams above us have let in at least 10 goals fewer than us this season with the exception of Brentford, this is where our problem lies not the fact that we bring Brownhill or Taylor on and might tweak our midfield or attack slightly, defensively we are mentally weak which might be because we have a keeper who nobody has any confidence in

It's so obvious that defending is our major weakness yet LJ seems oblivious and many of our fans seem obsessed with signing 'big name' strikers despite scoring goals not being the problem.

I don't have high hopes of improvement in the circumstances.

He is right but why has he apparently never tried to find such a player?

And whatever research we do on players doesn't seem to include mental strength, since the current group crumble under pressure.

Following O'Neill's injury there were no specialist central midfielders and the experience that City badly needed to land a play-off place.

It was Pack and Smith ad infinitum. Great when we're playing well, but with no one to challenge them when the going got tough, a majorly stupid decision by the hierarchy.

Still, at the end of the season when Ashton and Johnson embrace like Bergman and Bogart at the conclusion of Casablanca, the head coach will cry, "What about us?" And will receive the reassuring response, "We'll always have Manchester."

Managers carry the can but it goes much deeper than that.

The culture of the club is one of complacency, epitomised by Ashton saying promotion was not the aim and the players practically downing tools when the glamour of the cup was over.

To anybody not obsessed with strikers the January window was the time to strengthen the defence, especially at full back. We got a striker and a winger we didn't need instead.

Compounded by scattergun team selection and a gung ho approach certainly but I don't kid myself that sacking the manager will cure the problem of culture that has been there for most of my 5 decades as a City fan.

Based on what I've seen, we didn't even manage to do that.

Diony thing we got was a headless chicken with a pineapple on it's head.

A reference to one of the great films raises the tone around here and I have no likes left.

This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.;)

Here we go again.

Predictable stuff.

You weren’t saying that after the Reading - Boxing Day win I suppose?

To be truthful, I wasn't convinced about his suitability for the job in the first place. He hadn't really proved himself at Barnsley or Oldham. And I was saying this along time before Reading. Midway through a record 8 losses in a row, was where I had serious doubts.

Now, I'm not kidding myself into thinking he won't be here for a while to come but, I've been to every home game and I just don't see a great tactical mind.

Exactly my point of view.

My biggest doubt about him was that he was recruited for personal reasons by SL rather than football reasons.

In my mind, I've been proved right. Others will disagree.

Just another wasted three years at Bristol City. And how many times has that happened in my lifetime?

The blokes an idiot who thinks he’s clever. 4-2 up & then go 4-5-1 with Reid at left midfield.

Totally agreed.

If o’dowda needed to come off the obvious change was to bring Kelly on and move joe to left side midfield and leave everything else the same. That would have tightened up our left without disrupting the balance of the entire team. Another tactical shocker by LJ which in my opinion has demonstrated his inability to be a manager in the EFL championship.
