Thought the standard and game been excellent so far

Remember going to watch Taunton v Diss many years ago, mid 90s.  Taunton, Tiverton and Mangotsfield were the heavyweights of the Western League Prem at the time, all playing higher levels now.  Some of the players they had were very good and earning a good wedge too.

My ‘Managerial’ highlight

Got a local side the furthest they’d ever been in the Vase !! (demolishing Bristol Manor Farm On way

Thro qualifying and to round 3

Didn’t really get anywhere  in sight of Wembley Way Though

We was robbed in that game! Where nine minutes of injury time came from only the ref knows. What was the time of their goal, 96 minutes or something?

Yep, it was.  A right kick in the teeth.  Andy Perrott wasn’t fit, just coming back from a knee injury, and shouldn’t have played imho.  But difficult to leave out such a prolific scorer.

Lived in and Followed Taunton in early 70s when we couldn’t get to AG or couldn’t go to Away games

Had. a very good side and the Western League was very tough then

Great times

Falmouth had a great side in 70s

Looks like Plymouth Parkway could well do a bit of damage in the Western Premier next season.

They won the South West Peninsular Prem winning 34 games out of 38 scoring 147 goals!!

Also beat Bideford 4-1 in the Devon St Lukes Bowl final. Bideford finished 8th in the Southern League West Division.

The bloke up Front Hobbs scored 40odd, cant remember if it was him or his brother back in the day that played for England schoolboys.
