Feeling at HOME now.

It is nearly five years since I split with my ex after nearly 20 years together. Finally, after redecorating, I now really feel at home. I'm not saying you need to ditch a woman to get a home like this but such women who would welcome such a makeover are very rare indeed although I suspect the likes of Dollymarie, Red M and Septic Peg would approve.

I also have a stadium clock which can play City commentary on RB as if it is coming over the stadium PA system and I have a Bluetooth speaker installed to Play live baseball from the States.

There are 17,000 seats on the two sides so when I'm sat on my sofa it is like being in a 34,000 seater stadium.

I think you need a new girlfriend!

Actually still kinda with my ex as we get on much better living apart. Thus I can redecorate in such a way without the thought that at any moment the whole lot will be condemned. My ex/current visits me regularly and says it's my place and I can do what I want with it.

Just a few thoughts

1) I like it.

2) reminded me of the GOODIES with the cat

3) think how much easier and cheaper it would have been if you had been a gashead.  end of season sale 2 plastic chairs and a gazebo £20 pounds sir.

i query the price board...............not the 2/6 and 6D , but the "home supporters only". I'm sure they didn't have segregation when those prices were in operation ?

I'd even query the prices. When I started in 1950, I remember prices in Covered End of one shilling adults and sixpence for kids.

So an adult price of 2/6d would have kids price around 1/-d. Probably prices from mid to late 1950's. And definitely no segregation which only arrived after decimalisation of the coinage.

But great memorabilia.

70 years old myself. After starting my career at the "Gate" by being taken by my father I was let loose to go with my mates in 1957. Price in the Open End was 1/-d.

Btw, when are you building the other two sides?

I was only going to build one side first then got a bit carried away and relocated my bureau etc to accommodate another side behind the goal. I'm going to leave it at that but then again I thought that when I had built just the one side!

I got it on eBay. There wasn't one for Ashton Gate so asked the chap if he could do it. He said he could and it would be the same as the Anfield one except Ashton Gate Stadium written instead of Anfield.

I quite agree. My first games as a seven and then 8 year old were in the last few months before decimalisation was introduced in Feb 1971. There was no segregation then. Plus back in those days we didn't have an all seater stadium and what seats there were weren't red.

It’s obviously not an original sign as it definitely was’t Ashton Gate Stadium in the sixties or seventies.

Edit . Just seen reply above
