What's next?

New Orleans Saints buying into Southampton
Atlanta Falcons into Palace (Eagles)
Seahawks with Liverpool (Liverbird)

Maybe the Cowboys will look for a similar brand and buy into the G*s

Detroit and Millwall

How does this work then? Has the owner bought a stake or the actual organisation?

  • The American football team’s partnership and investment arm, 49ers Enterprises, will take the stake in the Yorkshire-based club owned by Italian entrepreneur Andrea Radrizzani.
  • Paraag Marathe, president of 49ers Enterprises and executive vice-president of football operations at the 49ers, has joined the board at Leeds. The controlling owner of 49ers Enterprises is Jed York, chief executive of the 49ers NFL franchise.
  • Leeds and 49ers Enterprises also announced a “strategic partnership”, in which the two groups will collaborate on sporting ventures and seek investments in start-ups in the sport and media industries.

Would have been a good fit if the 49ers had bought into the 14ers (or 15ers, whichever you call that mob).....

Ideally they would become the latest franchise expansion team in the MLS and leave the EFL for good.

The nearest I could think of for us was the St Louis Cardinals buying into the Robins? :)

I reckon the Philadelphia Eagles would be a better fit for Palace....

. . and the Cleveland Browns for that 5hit in Horfield. They have a lot in common as they haven't won anything either.

Factually incorrect

Oh, God no. Is it Animal Crackers-esque, Bob?

Stand for the same thing don't they? Rabid commercialisation of professional sports?
