Wouldn’t say it was a poor shot super, every ball was moving away and then Abbas tailed one back in, great bowling.

Didn't do much, certainly the wrong shot to play. TMS also said it was a poor shot.

I was watching and whilst it was obviously the wrong shot to play Sky showed the build up to the wicket taking delivery and it was superb bowling. Granted Stoneman was caught between a rock and a hard place but certainly the bowler deserves more credit than Stoneman deserves criticism.

Overcast, green wicket. We chose to bat for what reason?

Beacuse it only really does something first morning at lords. You always bat first at lords no matter what

As Tom says the first session at Lords always does something and Root would have been well aware of that but was looking further ahead.

The pitch will get easier as the game progresses. It'll be better this afternoon - as long as the English batsmen don't play anymore   weak shots.

Again...cracking delivery. Cook a little late on it but good knock and still our best batsmen. Anyway Stokes and Buttler could be fun!

Looked like he played for the slope but the ball held its line?

Amirs fastest ball of the day but yes it certainly looked like Amir got it to hold its line. Pakistan look a very decent bowling attack but haven’t they always!!

Waqar and Wasim spring to mind!  What a pair they were. Both world class bowlers.

The current Pakistani attack is nowhere near as classy but they're still pretty damn good!

Listening on the radio while at work.

Well I say the radio, sounds like TMS? Actually Guerilla Cricket- formerly known as Test Match Sofa! Anyone heard of it- definitely a different angle to the usual...

Sounds like fairly favourable bowling conditions, with Pakistan are exploiting decently. If this day one so far is anything to go by, should be a competitive series.

Damn- Buttler gone??
