Bedminster station today

Just after 0800 Network Rail alerted to a trespasser on the track at Bedminster. Police in attendance and trains stopped; |I then found these comments on another forum.

Rope team on way from Birmingham so very long job.

Just tazer the ****, all this mollycoddling cowmanure for the attention seeking moron gets on my tits! What the eff is a 'rope team', why do they need a rope team when there are steps up the gantry and why hasn't Bristol got any rope?

Bedminster line reopened after being shut for 3 hours because the person decided he was hungry, Police now escorting him to the nearest cafe for a full English to be paid for by the tax payer!

Was told he was going to jump from one of the signal TOWERS, After trying to get in front of a train.

Was heavily delayed this morning, eventually got let off at parson Street with a coach taking everyone on to temple meads after a 25 minutes journey took over two hours.

To be honest IF the guy was suffering from mental health issues it was the right cause of action.

Out of interest @22Awhere did you hear this from?

He had mental health issues and was in distress. I hope you’re never mentallly unwell given the lack of compassion you have shown here.

I couldn't agree more, I was totally shocked by the OP's tasteless and spiteful comments.

All very well showing compassion until it causes innocent people’s life which I know to well dolly and then people ask questions

They're quotes. He clearly says they're comments from a forum.

Then as you can see yourself, there’s a quote option on here, which would have made things clearer. OP I apologise for directing any anger towards you, but I hope you can see why I did.

In France and most of the European network, trespassers do so at their own risk. Trains carry on running.

Lost count of the number of fatalities I've attended and dealt with, had two in one day a couple of years back, it does remove some sympathy you might have, why not just sit at home and take a load of pills, a lot less messy than when a train hits you.  I've seen Drivers careers ruined by it.

as someone who works in the industry and had to deal with the aftermath at ufton, I echo those comments, issues like someone being bowled over by a train can effect the driver for the rest of their life, people don't see that side of things,

If we decide to suspend services its for a bloody good reason,

I went to another incident at Ufton, moped rider hit on the crossing, it all pointed to suicide, right mess and the first reports were another derailment, but thankfully not.  Never seen so many old bill, fire crews, NR staff and overhead helicopters for a relatively routine incident.

Heard over the weekend there was a massive balls up with the trains coming up from the South during this incident, in that trains were supposed to have been stopped at Nailsea, Yatton, Worle etc to get people off the trains onto buses, but for some reason the message didn't get relayed and caused the trains to stack up at Parson Street instead

It could have been really bad if the petrol in the moped had set light to the train, but thankfully it didn’t - did a fair bit of damage to the power car.

thats the problem when you have one organisation running trains and another running the infrastructure, they don't talk to each other,

It works pretty well really, not sure it would be too much different, the NR TRC is sat on the next desk to the GWR TSC, short term unplanned disruption communication wouldn’t be any different if it was the same organisation.
