Admin phantom Posted June 7, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted June 7, 2018 Well it has just cost Besiktas a few lira ! Besiktas have been fined 34,000 euros (£29,880) by Uefa after a cat wandered on to the pitch during their Champions League last-16 defeat by Bayern Munich in March. English referee Michael Oliver stopped play in the second half at Vodafone Park until the cat left the pitch. The Turkish club have been charged with "insufficient organisation", and have also been penalised for fans throwing objects and blocking stairways. Bayern won the tie 3-1 on the night. Seems to happen a few times a season back here, I wonder if the FA will jump on the bandwagon with this ridiculous fine?

handsofclay
I cannot understand what the cat was doing there? I mean, Besiktas were already 5-0 down from the first-leg.

redsince1994
Amazed that they have been fined. As any cat owner will attest, if they want to get in or out of something they will manage! Probably more to do with fan issues I imagine.

A row is brewing with FA chiefs “very unhappy” and chairman Greg Clarke set to complain directly to world football’s governing body over the bizarre punishment. The fine is only £6,000 less than Russia's £22,000 fine last month for their fans’ racial abuse of France’s black players during a friendly in March. It has once again raised fears that FIFA do not take racism seriously with the World Cup just over a week away. The non-sponsored drink at the centre of the England controversy was a can of Red Bull. A shot of the energy drink was spotted in the Three Lions dug-out during the Under-20 World Cup Finals in Korea last year. FIFA’s official energy drink is Powerade via their partnership with Coca Cola. England were charged during the tournament and fined afterwards.’ #GettingPrioritiesRight

Lanterne Rouge
One of the funniest things I ever saw at a City match involved a cat. When Luton had their plastic pitch a cat ran on at half time and took a crap on the edge of the penalty area. Amusing enough you may think but the best bit was when it tried to bury its leavings afterwards.
