Mr Scudamore, Premier League and us (Merged)

Whatever your view is of the Premier League and how football has changed as a result (not all for the better in my view), with his experience and contacts, he’d be an excellent person to get involved in the running of the club in some capacity.

Absolutely....he is a very astute and switched on businessman who also happens to love our club....we’d be mad not to grab him and give him some sort of role....what an ambassador he’d be for Bristol City with his contacts and acumen....

I did wonder about this. I know that some people are not keen on him, but as someone who had him as a customer of mine for nearly 5 years I can honestly say if all my customers were as personable and polite, my job at that time would have been much easier.

Too much of a big dog for Steve to actually want to work alongside I'd imagine.

100% spot on........unfortunately

Tough choice though Mark Ashton or someone who actually knows what they're doing

I’ve always thoughtf of him as an idiot. He might have part of negotiating good tv deals, but I don’t regard the Premier league as the great success as may seem to believe. Statistics show that it is not as competitive as the old first division it replaceds, and since it’s inception English clubs performance has been pitiful. This  despite the fact it’s easier to qualify, and the influx of overseas players and coaches who are supposedly more technically gifted. Far from being the best league in the world, it is simply one of the best funded.

Paid himself a nice £2.6m salary. Utterly obscene for a football administrator. Gone under the radar a bit today but on the day he leaves the top 6 clubs have secured a greater share of the TV deals ensuring further dominance for them. He certainly came across as friend of the big 4, against a level playing field and treated fans with contempt. Remember his plans for the 39th game...?

I’d have him here in a shot his negotiation skills alone would make it worth it,

but I suspect he’d get hundreds of offers

Undoubtedly he'd get plenty of offers and as a City fan he'd be be quite an asset to the set up within AG. He has masses of high level administration experience in the football world and Im certain SL wouldn't have a problem if Scudamore was available and wouldn't hesitate to replace MA with a guy with Scudamores skills.

That said, maybe Scudamore simply wants to enjoy his retirement - like me.

I've been labelled a "troll" many times but as yet no one has explained what a "troll" actually is.........:dunno:

They do not dress up as traditional clowns but, for their own amusement, they tease and exploit "human foibles" in order to speak the "truth" and gain a reaction. Like clowns in make-up, Internet trolls hide behind "anonymous accounts and fake usernames." In their eyes they are the trickster and are performing for a nameless audience via the Internet.[48]

Well I'm not anonymous and my username was created thru my nickname. Im not performer or a trickster either but the rest is pretty accurate.

Todays Times reports (p.67): "Scudamore says he will spend more time watching his beloved Bristol City". Anyone who describes City as 'beloved' is good enough for me, although it has to be said that a £6m bonus between 2016-19 means he should be well set for the new season ticket price structure.

Said in his statement that he wouldn't be retiring but will be down the Gate next season to watch City. Would be stupid not to tap into his knowledge and experience. Too much of a big dog for Steve to actually want to work alongside I'd imagine.

Yep.

Agree with your first sentence - we can't allow someone with Scudamore's experience, contacts and knowledge not to be involved with the club he supports.

If I was SL I would be on the phone like a shot offering some part time non executive directors role-.

He would be there solely in an advisory capacity  and not in the day to day work.
