Will be interesting to see if it's treated as a true break or will be a money making exercise with friendlies played abroad.

We are  ahead of the game, as we had a winter and spring break last season.

The FA Cup fifth round will be moved to midweek to accommodate the break, with replays being scrapped at that stage.

Yet again the history and traditions of the English game are further eroded to accommodate the premier league juggernaught.

Great, now we've ticked off another excuse for international players underperforming.

They should ban teams from playing friendlies during this period. Warm weather training is fine but if they go out and play in Malaysia and that then it's all just a massive money making exercise, as if they need any more.

2 things, January usually being the busiest month and where everyone pointed to the need of a winter break coming from is unchanged. Secondly it's not really a break as the premier league doesn't want to miss a weekend of games and if anything now means more games will be on tv. Bet anything that three of the big 6 will play one weekend and the other three the next, they don't need to play each other and there's your 6 televised games sorted for that period.
