Been into my local sainsburys super market.

Panini are selling mugs and metal badges about previous world cups.

Thing is it only starts at 1970.

Now let me think who hosted the event and won it in 1966?

The first Panini world cup sticker album was produced in 1970. Which would explain that.

About time everyone moves on from 66 & does something now onwards as it embarrassing

It is not embarrassing

There have been twenty World Cups with eight different countries walking away with the trophy at the end of the tournament.

Brazil have won the most with five, closely followed by Italy and Germany/West Germany on four. Uruguay and Argentina have both won it twice, and England, France and Spain have all won it the one time.

Eight nations !

We should be proud not embarrassed. Could we have done better ?

Of course but nearly every nation, Brazil included will say that . They lost a final to France for example !

We can't change history of course but we can applaud the achievement of the past whilst striving to add new ones.

Bravo , :clap::winner_third_h4h:.

However millions of people have won egg ' n ' spoon races , perhaps never going on to repeat the achievement,  whereas only eight nations have ever won the World Cup .

Genuinely, my friend and I absolutely stormed our primary school egg & spoon race, getting a much needed 1-2 for the green team, and it’s one of my proudest sporting achievements.

Don’t take that away from me.
