New kit

Recommended Posts

I popped into the City shop today

asked when is the new shirt coming out

I was told not until the end of July!

Why do City continuously miss the chance of getting funds in and advertising

Fans want to wear the shirt in the summer!

Year in year out City are the last team to sell their new shirts

When on holiday in Spain etc. It is nice to wear and see other City fans wearing the new colours

Even around Bristol, advertising the new season

Is there a reason for selling so late and missing the chace?

I do agree, but possibly this summer people are more likely to buy an England shirt being the world cup?

I'm not sure they are the last to sell their new shirts, but apart from one season many many years ago I can't recall us ever releasing a kit that soon into the summer

Out of interest have any / many started selling next seasons kit yet?

What like most of the other football clubs you mean?

i can’t imagine there is great footfall in the club shop during the off season ether,

i’d of Thought it would be in the shop come the first home friendly

Was in there today and there wasn't a lot outside of polo shirts and the like, unless you want kids socks of course which they have by the bucket load.

I guess its most likely the upheaval of the rebranding of the Rugby lot thats causing the delay if you call it that.

To be fair so far the only kits that have been officially released/announced in the Championship are:

Bolton: Home
Derby: Home
Hull: Home
Ipswich: Home & Away
Rotherham: Home, Away & Third
Stoke: Home, Away & GK

and QPR have had their home leaked.

So even including the leak only 7 clubs have even shown their new kit. As a club who makes their kits "in-house" it doesn't surprise me when ours come out so much later.

Bolton is pre-order
Derby is pre-order
Hull is just shown, no pre-order yet
Ipswich: Home is pre-order, away seems to be on sale now
Rotherham: Home is pre-order, rest are just shown
Stoke: Home, Away & GK all seem to be available

So in the whole of the championship, it would seem only two teams have new kits on sale now.

I have often been a critic of City’s ability to attain and market replica kit, and wrote to Jon Lansdown on more than one occasion. However, Bristol Sport is no worse than some of the kit suppliers we’ve had, and infinitely better than Adidas. For a multinational sports manufacturer that did nothing more than put a badge and logos on a pattern shirt they were appalling. Their lack of ability to deliver the correct sizes on time was legendary. One season they did not deliver the larger sizes until March!! On that occasion, as City refused to lower the price, I told them to stuff it.

You would have thought Bristol sport wouldn’t miss a trick , Father’s Day missed , World Cup on , nah missed that .

they  know every year when the shirt sponsors contract is up,

the club are piss poor on this tbh.  Been the same for years ,

you mean we are just like almost every club in the country who'#s new kit isn't released or on sale,

I mean Bristol sport aren't great but to have a go at them for not releasing the new kit is just moaning for moaning sake,

I know a good plumber in west London....

I don't think they need a plumber and judging by the kit they won't need any aquafresh anytime soon either as it's all over their shirt....

Glad it’s the proper one. Some of these suggested alternative robins have been hilarious

To be fair the only reason this one is "acceptable" is because of Nostalgia. If we hadn't of used this Robin in the past and it was put forward as our new badge people would be cussing it out and pointing out that it looks like a pub league badge (which is true). From a design aspect, the Robin badge is dated and ugly, but we're Bristol City and whilst most teams fans hate ugly stuff we seem to have an off liking of it, take mixing purple and lime for example...
