When someone says to you "You're obsessed with football"

I think one or two on here are right up there.

I am completely irrational when it comes to being introduced to anyone who utters the immortal phrase 'I hate football'.

I realise that football is not for everyone, but I cant get over the deeply-ingrained thought that the offending person, is in some way morally bankrupt and unworthy of attention.

My Mrs will say "it's only a game" just to wind me up , but I'm not obsessed.
I did take an instant dislike to someone who said, "I don't really like football" followed by "I did go to watch Swindon at Wembley though"  we don't talk much now.
Still not obsessed mind.  Yes when she said she wanted to move I said it had to be easy access to the Gate but ......

It's rugby fans that make me laugh. Anything that happens in rugby is "you wouldn't see that in football" or "football players don't do that". If the best thing about the sport is another sport doesn't do it, then it's not a very good sport.

Love winding rugby fans up.

What I particularly like is shooting them down in flames when they come out with the old `fans all in together and never any trouble` bullshit they so love.

It really ***** over their massive sense of their own superiority.

Rugby fans are the most up themselves, smug uttercnuts around. Shite "sport".

And too many middle class, tweedy farmer pricks.

I'm just saving my hours up for when my wife has Strictly on in the Autumn. Now that really is an obsession. I offered her a deal that she is free to watch it for as long as I watch the world cup. Hour for hour I think that will take her into the third week! ;)

And bloody `OK yah` student *******.

Thats the one. ******* toffs that look down on football as though rugbys a game for gentlemen, not just for middle class tossers to get pissed up and socialise.

Hear hear AR. I get really pissed off when people say it to me. My love of football and rugby/cricket has never hurt anyone but some I've known really slag me for what they see as my obsession. Yet they rarely say the same about their friends/family who booze, bet and batter their wives, girl friends and kids. Strange species aren't we!

It’s fine. Strictly is on before MOTD.
