Sterling is a rabbit in headlights when front of goal.

The English trait

Pick on one player and wait for any perceived error

:grr:

He and Trippier our best players

Everything good we’ve done Sterling involved

Greqt Touch But good keeping

Try and look at 3 or 4 others before you even consider Sterling

Our supporters As bad as the media everyone were criticising

Sterling, been much more effective I thought...other than his awful finishing.

If you are a neutral, pretty sure I would think this is two poor teams. Last ten, started to get well on top, but 2-0 and you feel it is over.

Not so, better behind a front 2, HE IS NOT A STRIKER!

Sweden have done a better game so far than I expected. I enjoy watching Emil Krafth and Granqvist could have been better off in another team. He had one attack where he surprised his opponent by going forward but as soon as he was to pass there just wasn't anyone on the sideline. I just wish that this affection I feel for certein players on the Swedish side would be more affordable. England don't look as good as I'd expected.

It’s stupid I’m not a sterling fan but if people can’t see he’s having a good game then it’s mind boggling

Fitness doesn’t get in the way of being able to bloody pass the ball

Don’t follow the ball

Watch what he’s doing

Well that's patronising. The guy works his behind off but is not a striker. Rashford would be a frst pick internationally and for  M.U. but does not have the same work rate.

You can never chill with a 1-0 lead. I feel genuinely nervous.

I thought 2-0 was the tricky lead ...

His movement has been great but in front of goal he has been very poor.

The first time he was saved by being offside, but the second time- yes good goalkeeping- he only had to do a 3 yard layoff to Kane after the 'keeper stopped him.

Instead he checked back which let the defenders get back.

Not about just ‘working’

He’s the only one pulling defenders all over the place making runs to create holes for others

Where would you rank him on the first half performance,  in England’s 11 ?

Sterling had his best half of the WC by a mile. We know his finishing is hit or miss but at least he is doing what he is meant to. To say he is shit is hilarious - if he as then Pep wouldn't have made him first choice all season long.

Good half that -  a 2nd kills it.

Sterling superb. Obviously has to improve his finishing and I'm hoping by next tournament with a lot of work and naturally becoming stronger he can develop a stronger shot and smash those chances into the back of the net. Think he lost confidence in hitting it after the missed offside chance. Dele Alli having a shocker. Maybe not fit, but never plays deeper for spurs and always been a bit concerned about him in that role. We have young team, so they're not gonna be the finished article.

You can see the panic. Finishers work on instinct.
