I suggested this a while ago, and a lot of people on here got their knickers in a twist over it, calling it disrespectful of a homegrown talent.

It is, but it's also how every club operates. Hell, it's even got a name in the real world - gardening leave! If a player/employee has had their head turned, and doesn't have the right attitude to work, the best thing for a manager to do is to remove them from the rest of the team.

Things might not come to this, but if the rumours people are spreading on here are correct, that his agent is pulling the strings in order to attract Premier League clubs to an upcoming player with a minimal contract, then the only option is to rest him and to integrate someone new into the team.
