Seems strange then that the board at Columbus Crew went to the trouble of releasing a statement saying the offer was turned down because of the timing of it?

Also the fact that you have posted this on a thread about a completely different goalkeeper, probably tells us something about your own insight.

Fake news...............

would wouldn't say anything on him until A) a bid is accepted (money talks) and B) we've secured a work permit, this one could drag on

Looking CC's statement regarding the timing of this, I think we could have a new goalkeeper in January. The regular season doesn't finish until the end of October,  and they are well in the top 6 in their league, so look like a good bet to qualify and continue to play potentially until the beginning of December. They want to keep him until their season finishes and that's beyond the summer transfer window.

Interesting Ivor.

The overriding thing of the entire Brexit process and not just for me is that the EU and particularly that ponsy Polish Nurd and the irritating Barnier, who both seem to want to criticise everything to do with the UK just for the sake of it, is that the EU has filibustered everything; they are petrified of losing the 2nd largest contributor to the EU budget and that if they don't throw spanners in the works at every hurdle other countries will get the same idea as us and jump ship.

The sad epitaph of Brexit will be decades long soured relations with Europe because of the corrupt pig headed pricks in Brussels. If you are smart enough to see through the incessant media bashing of the idea of leaving the EU, whether you are for in or for out I hasten to add, I see a hardening Brexit or Remain vote but infinitely more the former; most remainers i speak to want democracy to prevail. I despise someone like Blair or Major coming on in their higher than mighty bullshit and asking for a totally undemocratic second referendum; they truly have taken the anti Brexit media onslaught and the filibustering into their heart and mind as gospel and reacted accordingly.  Truly epic anti democratic errors of judgement.

Sadly May has backed herself into a straight jacket thanks to the catastrophic election balls up and it is now costing both her and the nation because she has not the steel to see it through... or has she; i must see through the mist of the media and be patient!

Lee is very confident with that line up then.

Couldn’t agree more. Very well put.

On a different tack, why is Gregor McGregor recording his latest report from what looks very much like a public lavatory? There is even graffiti on the wall. I trust that is not where he normally hangs out.

Free agent so can be signed whenever. We had Ekstrand on trial forever but only signed him after the window shut. Not saying we will sign him just that there is no rush to. Possible he signs if we can’t bring one in

But also a risk he goes somewhere else.

So what you are saying is that LJ likes an injured goalkeeper ?

Nope, its a slight knock and nothing serious and he may even be fit for Saturday if required. Therefore LJ may well still sign him.

I'm sensing that LJ really isn't sure on this one (certainly not as a No.1) as otherwise, we'd have signed him by now?

I'm not sure if us wanting him is the issue. During the Marbella trip, LJ said that it was as much a case of him looking at us. He's probably just weighing up his options (ie agent just waiting a bit to see if he can get more money elsewhere than what we have offered).

I don't think he was ever going to be our number 1 anyway. Even with Frankie out.

I think my Football Manager save is trying to tell us something.

How weird is that.

Think the real issue at hand is the fact you seem to be playing in ******* Thailand?

Why didn't he play Friday?

Was he definitely injured or has he moved on?

Picked up a knock in training, decision to be made one way or the other this week.

Gregor McGregor says he is playing in a behind closed doors friendly tomorrow with a decision to be made afterwards as to his future.

After LJ’s comments post Marbella and with FF out now until November, I’d be amazed if we don’t offer him a contract.

Still expect us to look to bring in another keeper as well, though.

He played behind closed doors on Tuesday yet the club are yet to confirm if he has been signed or not.

Strange, as most City fans are on teder hooks about the goal keeping situation, and as much as i admire O Leary chuckingg him in Saturday would be mad.

All the hard work that has taken place to strengthen the team yet the goalkeeper saga goes on. As with all these things I would like to know the thinking behind this. Keepers being signed all over the place and Steele signed by Forest. He would have done a job for us.But I don't want to undermine Max. Let's hope he plays well and it would be great to have another academy player make it.

Saw this on Twitter too, says we are signing him but still looking for another. Also Steele has just signed for Forest today.

If Steffen joins us at all it'll be in January when their season has ended

Tweet just gone out with an obscured player - presumably a GK

No idea what this fella looks like to know if it's him or not!
