Calculus
Recent fixture moves and the upcoming RPZ changes started me thinking about this: How about having Friday night as our normal time for home games? Advantages: Parking would be a lot easier now that the RPZ has been extended. Weekends would be left clear for other stuff. Those who play in the many leagues would be able to get to games, potentially improving attendances. Better atmosphere under floodlights (?) Disadvantages: It would inconvenience some or even make it impossible for those that work on Friday nights. Tradition. Travel more difficult for away supporters or those home fans that have to travel long distances. Have got no idea what league rules are about this, but would be interested to know what people think. Simple question then: Friday Night Football instead of Saturday afternoons - yes or no?

RedRaw
Would prefer Friday night to Sunday afternoon games that's for sure. More than happy for a few more Fridays but not as our standard home games.
Bar BS3
I like having some games on a Friday, but certainly wouldn’t want all of them then, even though it would make life easier for me personally.
J D
No for me. Would be a nightmare for away games.
devoncider
I enjoy a couple of Friday night games through the year - but sat 3pm is bread and butter. Sundays are rubbish too
Super
I don't mind a few Friday night games as it does free up your weekend, downside is for people having to travel as we all know what the roads/motorways are like on a Friday afternoon. Admin phantom Posted July 24, 2018 Admin Report Share Posted July 24, 2018 You are going on the basis that we all are dependant on getting to the games by car
Mr Popodopolous
Quite like a good Friday night game under the floodlights. Not as a first choice but 1-2 a season can be ideal. Another decent alternative slot IMO is Saturday evening, 5.30pm on Sky fairly big game, atmosphere builds, alcohol consumption for longer helps with this. It can be difficult to get to though, much like the Friday night which is a key downside.
Olé
I do enjoy night games but doing it every other week from London, not paying GWR a small fortune for peak travel and holding down a serious job are not all compatible.
Red Exile
Bit of a nightmare for exiles for the reasons listed above. If football watching ceased to be primarily a Saturday afternoon activity I'd have to question whether it was possible to continue to regularly attend matches. Midweek means getting home at around midnight, Friday afternoon traffic means leaving unfeasibly early. Both can be managed occasionally but nothing beats Saturday at 3pm...for me.
