advice about cheap tickets to swansea and times (Merged)

Recommended Posts

okay direct trains to swansea from  Bristol parkway leave at XX.09 minutes pass the hour and no need to change

and they are all  gert big trains from London paddington

journey time 1 hour 34 minutes

So suggest you catch the local train from BTM at XX:41 to bristol parkway

Group save tickets are available

as these are GWR services

Split tickets are also available bristol to cardiff and cardiff to swansea.

NO BRIDGE TOLL

If your thinking about using the train please book yourselves back on the 17:29 service from swansea as soon as possible

Maybe on wednesday 1st August would be a good ideal

AND those nice people at FGW might put on a special NON STOP service back to Bristol Parkway and BTM

cheers john,

was going from btm, however that stops in cardiiff,  rather go direct from parkway, jumping on 1109 , does help having family railcard !   hoping to catch 1729 back, hopefully the ground isnt too far from the station  or south wales finest will escort us back ;)

We are leaving Temple Meads at 08:55 and returning on the 18:29. Both change at Cardiff.

Our ticket allocation not  going to be on sale for long , looked just now said only 837 left out of almost 2000

I read there’s buses from the ground back to town centre / station, anyone know any more about this? I’m on the 17.30 and although Looking at the map, I could walk quickly and make it but don’t fancy it if it’s going to be 30c and I’ve had a few beers.

@ralphindevon I've spoken to a Swansea season ticket holder, the buses are like at Reading they fill and go, they get a police priority at the ground then go on bus only roads into the station.

Cheers, I’ve always found Reading very easy and have been back at the station by 5.15 before now.

I still can’t believe how rubbish the transport STILL is from Temple Meads to AG, it’s so embarrassing whenever I arrive there and some away fans ask me where the shuttles to the ground pick up, there’s one about 2ish and I’ve caught that once in 4 years.
