Thought the same walking in. Atrocious layout. Ticket queue, bar queue, matchday programmme all just outside the sports bar. Oh and then a queue out the door into the club shop and a bunch of bike racks. Put too much in a space far too small

You said ‘I’m amazed , at this time of season that they don’t utilise a marquee or similar behind the south stand , especially for first two or three Home games selling just say the replica Shirts only’. Yesterday was the first home game and they utilised a stall behind the south stand selling replica shirts.

South Somerset Red
The whole layout around the ground is rubbish. Its a free for all to get to the turnstiles by the amount of fans around the south stand. I've been to big grounds such as Old Trafford, Stamford bridge and Anfield and its never like that there. Got to much going on in such a small space.
TonyTonyTony
Yeah but there is constraints around the ground due to housing. On the corner between the Dolman and the south stand you have a houses backing right up to the ground. Behind the Dolman there are flats and industry. Behind the Atyeo there are a row of houses facing the park. Bristol sport would have to buy all these up to have a grand concourse around the ground. Might happen one day.....don’t hold your breath
Fiale
They are probably waiting for the new indoor arena/stadium to make further improvements. If they create a pedestrian entrance / avenue of winterstoke road, leading to the Lansdown stand with the new arena one side and hotel the other it should make things a whole lot better and make the whole stadium look dammed impressive

Online means paying for delivery, not seeing the product in the flesh first, and taking a chance on notoriously inconsistent sizing. And those of us who don’t live near the ground aren’t going to make a special trip when we’d naturally be visiting on a matchday anyway. Trying thinking it through before making smartarse comments. The shop needs to be fit for purpose; 35 minute queues at peaks time suggests it isn’t.

bengalcub
Avoiding the clubshop isn’t an option when you have kids who are excited at getting their new city kit printed on in the first game of the season , agree most adults would pop in their during the week , however it can not cope with demand on match days therefor it’s not fit for purpose and needs to be addressed , can’t image how an evacuation in the event of a fire would look like ,, 300 people doing a conga around the stalls whilst singing follow my leader leader leader follow ....... hantsred
Have to agree the club shop experience on a match days is truly awful. Went into Brighton's club shop end of season before last, as a comparison of similar size stadium, and it must be at least twice the size and of course dedicated to football merchandise only. The AG cub shop with it's cramped and messy layout with hardly any signs to show where junior range is is really poor and then when you do find the right section they have invariably no stock or limited range. Really a big let down when you think Bristol Sport is all about making the extra buck from commercial prowess!

It’s too small an area and the club must know that but there isn’t anywhere else to locate it. It’s actually smaller than the old club shop. Ridiculous when you think of that.
