About 10 million pounds up

We’re 10 mil up (give or take, not all details are released and some are estimates). Could well be about to become 15-16 million with Joe off. So two things:

Firstly; some great business done. To be in such profit and still have a squad of similar ability (imo) is excellent.

Secondly; should we expect more signings? A LB seems logical, though I really rate Kelly, so maybe an older head who can just compete with Lloyd and help his development. Maybe spend ~2mill there. Maybe bank the rest for the future?

Should learn how to run a football club then.

Is that not what we're doing now then?

As for the LB I expect us to sign a LB on loan with an option to buy rather than them coming in the next couple of days, reduces the rush to get someone in.

Would of been £100 mill up if he put his hand in his pocket in January .....

That's not true though, is it? What you mean is that we may have been in with a better chance of competing to be in the Premier League if he'd have spent more money. Absolutely no guarantees whatsoever that more money spent equals more success, especially in the very short term.

Sunderland had one of, if not the, highest wage bill in the Championship last season by the way.

Yeah I mean what a skin flint he is.....not liked he's bankrolled us for years and built us a £47 million stadium is it.

Its not ours, we just play there, its Bristol Sports; who gets what in this stadium anyway and at what cost :dunno:

Hasn’t been owned by Bristol City FC for donkeys years. The formation of Bristol Sport changed nothing in that respect. An inconvenient truth for those who prefer to write their own narrative without bothering to check the facts.

That’s guaranteed is it?

And it was a risk-free option was it?

And there are no known examples of clubs spending beyond their means and living to regret it, no?

If you don't take a chance you will never cross the road, who knows if we were to take a chance we might like it when we get to the otherside.

Don`t you go letting facts get in the way of a good agenda mate. Some people just love a good conspiracy theory even when it`s been proved to be total bollocks.

IF we get to the other side.

There is more than one way to build a club. One is to recklessly throw money at it and take huge risks that may or may not pay off. The other is to grow it incrementally and sustainably. Evidently Lansdown prefers the latter approach. Given our league position, attendances and infrastructure has been improving year-on-year consistently for five years now, I’d say he’s currently on the right track - not to say he’s always got it right, because he hasn’t.

Nice edit!

Ffs Bristol sport don’t own the stadium. They’re a management company basically that run all commercial aspects of the clubs . The ground is owned by Ashton gate holdings Ltd and has been for years.

Because spending guarantees promotion doesn't it... Can't wait to watch Villa, Derby and co in the premier league this season.... oh wait
