Red
At least they know how to put the ball in the net after a good attacking move, i was waiting for it to go back to the half way line.
You Do The Dziekanowski
I’ve watched that too many times (football nerd) but it just shows how having players who’s first thought is attack gives you chances and play like this. The ball goes to the CM on the edge of the box. First touch is a positive one towards opposing goal. A forward pass, and runs into space which he has created by dragging a CM out of position by asking for it short. The little triangle play by the sideline again brings the opposing players over to try and regain possession meaning there shape has gone. Now the key part in this whole move, and what Bobby done so well at. The striker drags the CB who’s marking him out wide, a position no CB wants to be in! The hole this creates is huge allowing the player who picked up the ball at the edge of his box to carry on his run through leaving the opposing RB in a position he doesn’t want to be in, stuck between going for ball and leaving the scorer wide open for a tap in. Start of of last season, that is what we were good at, seen glimpses here and there but LJ needs to try and find a method that can take opposing players out of position instead of trying to take them out with a defence splitting pass. You need the likes of Fabregas and De Bruyne to do that on a consistent basis. But just by having players play quick triangles you’ll create gaps and opposing players naturally come out of there comfort zone, proof above of the triangle being played and the opposition losing a LB, CM and CB with 2 passes that even Bailey Wright could pull off .
